Just One More Coat
I just finished cleaning the windows on my Camry and they are 100% smear free
I mixed rubbing achcol and water 50\ 50. Sprayed that on wiped the window with
A huck towel, then sparyed Sprayway cleaner, used a glass towel to spread and then
Buffed with another towel, the windows are prefect!

YEP I can see that working very good.

I usually use Bon-Ami and then Invisible Glass that will produce a squeaky clean glass as well.

that seems like a lot to do for a window. Stoners works fine for me

Its not the much work for some reason every time I have cleaned windows there are smears left on the inside, that's why I started using this method

Dave I got mine at a local janitorial supply store

Am I wrong or do people have more smearing problem on the interior glass than the exterior surface? BeemerBoy, are you asking yourself why you waited so long to switch to the huck towels for glass cleaning? :)

I use the two towel method.

Sprayway works for me but I also use Surf City. Adam's (got in a trade), etc. I settled on the Viking microfiber woven polish towels. They do not really have a nap. They do not lint. I will scrub first using a cotton terry cloth round application to break up any grime. I think the secret is to break up the film on the glass and just softening it with a mf does not do it.

I use stoners, and spray way and the invisible glass reach tool on auto glass. It is very handy and works well cleaning glass. That's after smoking every 5 minutes inside the vehicle.:notme:

I always have smearing issues on the inside of the window.

I only have streaking problems on the front windshield and rear glass on cars on extremely hot days. No matter what MF towel I use, 2 towels give me a better outcome, but I normally have to clean them a couple of times. I have used several cleaners as well. Stoners, SprayWay, Surf City, old fashioned windex, Perfect Glass (which is awesome to say the least), and some others. Right now I am using, have been using actually, CarBrite glass cleaner. I had 15 gallons. Right now I am down to about 3 gallons left. Good cleaner, but I am switching to Meguairs glass cleaner next. Already picked up a gallon of it ready to dilute.

Looking for that Bon Ami. No luck finding it around here. Have a few Mom and Pop shops to check out tomorrow to see if they may carry it.

Love that glass cleaning tool for the windshields. Works great. Available at Wal Mart too, and cheaper than the one on AG, plus no shipping costs!

Back to the streaking, I tend to turn the AC on in the car on defrost to cool the glass down a bit and it seems to work...

You have a problem that I don't have to deal with.

I only do my own vehicles and it is not as hot here as in Texas but I always work on mine in the garage and if it is very hot or humid I run the door down and turn on the AC so I'm not fighting the heat that you are.

I only do my own vehicles and I do not smoke so I think that helps also because I just don't seem to have the trouble with glass that you Pro's do it has to be what is on the glass and maybe the climate also.

The Bon-Ami will really scrub off anything and get glass clean but it is far too messy to use on the inside I only use it on the outside.

I only use the Bon-Ami a couple times a year and do it before I do a conventional wash that way I can use the hose and rinse it off because it leaves the window covered with a white suds after you work it awhile.

It would be too messy if you did not plan on using a hose to wash.

True Value stores carry it (or can get it in).
I've also seen it at some US grocery stores recently (They used to carry only the one with bleach, which wasn't recommended for glass).

Tex, working in the direct sun does present issues when cleaning windows. The heat causes the window cleaner product to dry too quickly which exacerbates the smearing. Additionally and depending on the position of the sun in the sky, it makes it harder to find the smears without blinding yourself.
The only thing I have been able to figure out is to just go over it again, and again, and again working the windshield in thirds.

Hope's Perfect Glass is a nice product isn't it? It is a bit pricey compared to some of the concentrates available and 2l is the largest size container I can find. I have also considered the concentrates from Meguiar's, Zep's, and Auto Magic just never gotten around to picking up a gallon.

Have you checked for Bon Ami at W@lm@rt, T@rget, you local grocery etc.?

Haven't checked True Value yet. Have an ACE right down the road, may check them out.
No grocery stored carry it around here. Checked multiple places, even a few janitorial places.

As for the streaks, yea, I tend to just go over them twice, sometimes even three times on heavy filmed up windows. I just picked up some huck towels from the janitorial store I visited today, so I am hoping they help with the second pass.

I have though about picking up some windshield shades (the ones that use suction cups) to stick to the outside of the windshield to help cool the glass a little. Or to just keep the sun off it for a little while..
