Velcro Glued to Dash

I just bought a used Maxima. The previous owner decided to put that carpet stuff on the dash of the car. Having used the velcro to secure it down, I now have a bunch of velcro squares glued to my dash. Can you guys give me some ideas on how to remove them? Thanks.

Would a hair dryer work? It would melt the glue so you could pry out the squares.

I'm not sure how safe it would be, though.

I removed some of these with a heat gun....you can use a HD but just heat the area a little bit its to peel back the velcro...then goo gone will work, WD 40 will also...spray on a rag then rub the area, this will lift the glue that is attached to the dash and not mar the finish

Well, the squares are not the problem, I can get those off. But what about getting the adhesive off of the dash?

Hey Beemer,

Judging by your icon, you know a LOT about heat, dontcha? Har har har har

Once the squares are gone, then I agree on the use of Goo-Gone. Just keep applying and wiping until all residue is gone.

I wouldn't apply directly to the dash....on a rag then wipe the dash...that stuff can / will eat threw the finish in some cases...direct is just taking chances IMO.....PB TR will also work
