velcro coming off Cyclo pads easily?

I have some of those from back before I had a Cyclo and used them on the PC. They're more or less practice pads now for use with my backing plate for 4" pads on my rotary.

Wow, now that's what Autopia is all about. That is very generous of you, Anthony.

I have the black backed ones, and they seem to be holding up but they *are* extremely ugly and I don't care too much for their performance.

:D Glad to be of help in anyway.

Yes they are ugly but the new ones sure are nice. I think they may go with a slightly thicker foam pad also BUT then that may also raise the price and I am not sure people would like that:nixweiss

I have Cyclo pads everywhere at the moment but I think Ron is going to take some off my hands.

The new Cyclo pads a little less thick than the picture above, but that non-glue backing is really great. I couldn't get a specific response as to when they will be available, but I think they will perform much better than the older Cyclo types. Besides the backing, the velcro is also not as close to the edge and seem much better in construction.

I'd be sure to talk with Irene, not just whoever answers the phone. And *call*, don't email.

Yeah, that's for sure. A week and a half and no answer to the email I sent.

I have been testing some new Cyclo pads for Cyclo Tools with new heat stamped velcro backs and they are AWESOME! No more glue.

They will be out shortly and I am sure if you contact Cyclo about the pads they will issue a refund or replacement.

Anthony

Great news! I've broke the backing material free from at least a dozen pads. The backing breaks loose long before the pad is worn out. I've been using the sprayaway glue to reattach the material -but that's only a temporary fix.

Did you mention that you were an autopian?

Actually yes I did, I mentioned that I was a member of Autopia, DC, MOL, BCC Online, OLG, and Governor of LVMOC.

Andf today I left two messages on Irene's VM.

Mosca,

I just found one of my first 4" pads delaminated. I think it is a Cyclo brand. FWIW, I glued it back on with Liquid Nails. I'm pretty sure it's going to hold ok, that stuff can keep furniture legs on!

Accumulator mentioned that you should call them instead of emailing them. Maybe he had a similar experience with not getting the proper attention via email.???

After a week and a half, I would say that you aren't going to hear from them.

Yep, no response to my email but immediate response to a phone call.

I've had no issues with the pads after a year or so of use...

But the the Cyclo is not my 'go to' machine, so they don't get nearly the use/abuse of our other pads!

I do find them 'difficult' to remove from the backing plate, and I think that's a good thing!

I just bought a 'package' of new stuff at auction (Sensei, Fein, PC, Ozone Machine, etc) and a Cyclo was sorta thrown in... so now we have two!

I guess I'm up for the new pads.

With application pads on one, and MF removal bonnets on the other, a pair of Cyclos can make for a mighty streamlined process ;)

I just took a peek at TOL to see if there are any signs of the new Cyclo pads. Doesn't look it but I think they should remove this statement:

"Top of the Line only sells the "Premium" Cyclo pads with durable black velcro"
