VECTOR 7" Rotary

I posted this same reply over at SCG. If you've been there disregard it.

I went to their site and took a look at it. I'm probably wrong but is sure looks alot like the polisher that Harbor Freight is selling for $25. The case is a different color but the handle, switch and even the brake looks the same. Take a look at this link.

compare it to this one.

I picked this one up at Harbor Freight and though it isn't Professional Quality it looks pretty decent. It comes with both sanding and polishing hook and loop backing plates. It comes with a wool pad which I will throw away and a spare set of brushes. Once I've tried it I'll give you a more qualified opinion. I had a $5 dollar off coupon. I figured what the heck, I've payed more for a can of paste wax.

Harborfreight/Chicago Electric.

I've had mine for about a year, but it has had little use. Well, maybe 50 hours isn't little from some points of view. It is a fine tool for the enthusiast.

1. Throw away the pads and backing plate that are provided.

2. Practice. Practice on some thing that you do not care about. Don't just go at your pride and joy. You will cause damage.

Wait til HF has it for 24.99.

Jim,

I think you missed the first part of my post. Harbor Freight does have these for $25 plus I had a coupon.

I've used rotary's for years. I have a Makita as well as an Orbital PC. I just picked this up as a back up. I couldn't resist the net cost of about $23. Though the pad is junk I couldn't see anything wrong with the backing plate.
