Vacuum recommendation $100-150 budget

Yup
This is why I`ve always recommended the DP/McKees shop vac. It has 90" of lift but Is at 185cfm (major improvement over the one you suggested). It seems it`s been discontinued though because I haven`t seen it in stock for months. IMO it`s the perfect mobile detailers vacuum. I sold my metro vac n blo because the McKees is so much better in every way. If you can get your hands on one I wouldn`t pass it up.

McKee`s 37 8 Gallon 2.5 Peak HP Wet/Dry Auto Detailng Vacuum, car vacuum, auto vac, shop vacuum

Great specs!! I`ve never heard water lift referred to as sealed pressure. Is it the same thing?

According to that link it is $250?

Seems it`s gone up in price. I picked one up on an open box deal and got it for well under $200 I think. Been over a year so I`m not sure. Worth every penny IMO even at full price. Not too big not too small, more powerful than the rigids and metro vacs, super long hose and plenty of attachments. The standard size shop vac filter is a big plus too. No small filter that clogs up quickly

Is AG the only place that sells it? I see it says "Shop Vac" on it.

I bought mine from Autopia. Hence with them not even having it on their website and AG has been out of stock forever, I assume its been discontinued

It looks similar to this one from Milwaulkie. Lower water lift specified though. https://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/corded/8936-20 $300 at HD.

Oh good point, yeah leaving the filter in place is a much better idea. Deleted that line from my post.

FWIW, I also use a bag inside of my shop vac so theres never any debris inside the tub/ never was a risk of blasting sand anywhere.

What bags are you using inside? I just received the Ridgid vac talked about here and would like to know what bags you are talking about? Just the normal shop vac bags that go on the inside of the unit?

Yes, that`s right, the Ridgid brand bags:

RIDGID High-Efficiency Dust Bags for 12 gal. to 16 gal. RIDGID Wet Dry Vacs (2-Pack)-VF3502 - The Home Depot

I prefer those over the cheaper "multifit" bags Home Depot also sell because the Ridgid ones fit better over the vacuum port from the hose into the tub.

I`ve been following this thread as all the other for vacuum recommendations. I purchased the rigid 14gallon 6.5 ho from Home Depot on sale along with the automotive kit. So far it`s been pretty good but I had a hell of a time vacuuming the interior of a Honda Accord. It literally took me an hour to get the job done. And this was a coupe. I don`t know if was the type of carpet Honda uses or what. My dad recently purchased a smaller vacuum called clean obsessed. It`s smaller and has way more suction. I`m thinking of returning this for something with more suction. It says it has over 117" of waterlift. I`m thinking about metro also. Any ideas to help me out? Thanks

Metro vacs have a great water lift number at the cost of CFM. They also have a insanely small capacity, I sold mine. It was great for a bit but the capacity and the low cfm was just too much for me to keep it.

if you want a powerful vac look for something with a 2 stage motor. They typically have a lower HP rating but they are much more powerful and quieter too

Gotta be honest with you. I`ve never heard of a 2 stage consumer vacuum. I`ve of course heard of 2 stage vacuum pumps but this is a new one to me. Could you point me towards an example?

Its not available anymore but I purchased it through Autopia over a year ago. Its a beast

Copied from AG

Specs:
•2-Stage Motor
•Cord Length: 35 Feet
•Operation Sound Level: Super Quiet
•Hose Size: 1.5" Diameter, 12` Long
•Warranty: 1 Year
•Tank Drain
•Lock-on Hose
•Onboard Accessory Storage

Honestly Ive had a hell of a time finding something similar now that this vacuum cant be purchased anymore. Price was steep at over $200 but the performance doesn`t lie.

I`ve got a Metro-vac and it`s just ok. It doesn`t have the suction I was expecting. Shark has a portable that looks good and if it is anything like my home vac it should be great. I actually think it is the same vac as the home model without the beater bar. Shark also has a kit with car cleaning tools.

I saw this at Costco today. Any thoughts on it?
