I live in northen utah and wanted to meet others detailers in the area. I also wanted to find the best places locally to buy products.

If you know of places, people fire off a reply.

Cheers,

GREG

So there is no one in the local area??? I really would like to shadow a person on a detail when they are using a rotary. I need to speed things up, and increase the gloss.

That would be cool, how much skill do you have with a rotary? Have any cars on the docet to do in the near future?

Shoot me an email.

I'm in Taylorsville. I'd love to meet up with some other detailers in the area. I've got a workshop planned for May 12th that should bring a few detailing minded people together. I'm not using a rotary, but this workshop should display some of the power of using a PC and the right combination of pads and products. :)

Oh, and as far as good places to get products, pretty much I just stick to the auto paint supply shops. Many of them are Meguiar's and 3M distributors. You can get Farecla and some other hard to find products in places like that too. There is one on 33rd South by the freeway in Salt Lake that I like to go to. They carry Meguiar's pads and you can get a lot of their products by the gallon there.

I don't think I'll be around on May 12th or I would love to come by. I will be down in Provo on may 19th and maybe could stop by on my way back that afternoon?

I'll be around that afternoon. We are doing a neighborhood cleanup thing that morning, so I'm sure I'll be here. My number and address and everything is on my site in the Event's section. I'm updating that tonight with details about the upcoming workshop. Just let me know if you get lost. :)

I would love to stop by as well to the workshop on May 12 as im not far away here in Orem. Didnt see much info on your site for this years event so please update your site or post here as soon as possible.

I have no experience with a Porter Cable but lots of time on a rotory. I used to detail cars in a shop when i lived in Florida but now i just do them for friends and family here. Im always looking to learn new techniques and will gladly share any knowledge i have with everyone else.

Still trying to find more people in the area that are into detailing. If you are lets get together sometime and share stories, products, advice, etc.

We need at least five or six people in order for it to be at all effective. Something that is in my plans for next year is to get a dealership to sponsor the event. That actually gets a lot of people out to it and adds a bit of fun. What would be really fun is if your Ferrari pal would let us work on one of his cars and have that on display as an example of what is possible. I would love to see Wolfgang boosted with Polycharger on that F40 or Enzo. <drool> <drool> That might be a good way to get to him too. Throw him a freebie and let him see what we are capable of.

I am here in Provo and would be interested in getting together. I'm also looking for someone local with a rotary buffer to help correct paint on an Audi, my PC isn't up to the task of that clear coat.

I'll have an UDM in a couple weeks that we could try on your Audi swirls. It would be interesting to see if it really is packing the power of a rotary. If a PC can't remove the swirls but the UDM can, well I guess that just proves the hype. :) I should have it in another two weeks or so. It just depends on when Autogeek gets their fully stickered units in.

That might be a good time to get us all together? I too am interested in the UDM, but think it won't be worth the cost over a PC, and No way can it pack the power of a rotary!

Let me know when you get the UDM because I'd be more than happy to offer the Audi as the sacrificial lamb. I'd just need a little advanced notice so I can arrange a car for the lady friend to drive while I steal the A4. Saturdays work best for me as I'm in the office M-F 9-5

Hey guys I'm down for meeting up and learning a few things, I'm a noob when it comes to detailing but I'm giving it my best to learn.
