Using Poorboys EX on wheels?

CamV6

Is using a sealant with carnuba, meant for body work, a good idea on alloy wheels?

Whaddya reckon :down :up

I agree, you can use it, and it will look great, but won't last.

I suggest any pure sealant for this task instead of something with carnauba, like SG.

CamV6 - See above... Klasse SG is great on wheels along with PB's Wheel Sealant. I believe some members have also had good luck with the new DP Wheel Glaze. There is also Wheel Wax and the new Michelin products, one of which is the brake dust repellent which I know for a fact works.

Hope that helps.

I use AIO to clean and SG to protect my wheels.

The durability and reflectivenes of this combo have kept my wheels sparkling, plus, they are very easy to maintain due to the slickness of the SG.

The AIO really made the wheels sparkle and the SG keeps them that way.:bounce

This combo (AIO and SG) is especially great for keeping the sparkles on the backside of the wheels. Soap & water and a pressure washer (be careful with wheel balancing weights) will keep them looking great for months.

SG on wheels is very easy to apply and remove.:xyxthumbs

Thanks Guys. That answers a question of mine. I have some AIO and SG. I will give it a try on the alloys when I next clean the car.

Thanks fellas, great and swift advice as usual.

I'm very interested in wannaflybody'd advice as to Collinite 845 on alloys as I have some of that.

I eventually used Poorboy's Polish with carnuba and EX on my Avus silver TT, and I'd planned to use 845 over the top at the end of the English summer in prep for winter, by which time I'll have put several coats of EX :D

I have to say, that although I've not seen the other products that are said to give the metallic flake more 'pop', I am very impressed with the poorboys stuff. Deep wet looking gloss (without looking 'bling') and in th sumshine the metallic flake sparkles.

In cloudy/darker conditions the paint looks two shades darker and a quite different colour therefore, but then it;s supposed to do that IMHO with this Perlescent finish. The Poorboys however really seems to amplify this effect.

I know the general advice was to use non-carnuba synthetic products on silver, but for my taste, with this shade of silver, the combination I've used makes me :bounce :bounce
