Using AIO Only

Anyone using Klasse AIO by itself. I read where it can be used alone with good results (good cleaning and durability). I was just wondering if anyone has used it by itself without a sealant?

The website link below claims it will last 6 months or more and has more info about it.

Here's the link:

A lot of products claim to last a LOT longer than they actually will. I have never left AIO as the only protectant on my car. The only time I've left it alone was when I cleaned up my wheels and applied AIO to them before storing them away for the winter.

But I will apply several layers of sealant to them before installing them.

When I first got AIO, I topped it with Souveran. Never left it by itself as a "finish" because never saw that as a recommendation anywhere.

I left AIO on the car for about a day before I topped it. But thats the only experience I've had using it like that. I wouldn't consider AIO as a LSp and as others have said, you should top it with somehting

the big reason everybody is attracted to using AIO is for its light polishing as well as a layer of protection before you put on an LSP giving you extra protection...Looks are to tell you the truth lacking when it is used alone imo...I mean when it takes at most 10 min to put on a coat of OCW why not?

I have used AIO as a stand alone product and got very minimal durability out of it. It was on my work truck which sits outside 24/7. Git about 2 weeks out of the beeding.

AIO by itself does not bead very much. you just have to tell strickly on its looks. I did my wifes van and I notice that when I wash it no beads, but when it rains ,lots of beads.

Remember to take all ad copy with a grain (or a shakerfull ;) ) of salt. I remember one person posting how they like AIO by itself, but nobody else has ever had it last very long.

I'd let it set up longer than normal before buffing it off if using it as a stand-alone.

I had the exact same experience.

I also have not had good durability with AIO by itself. A few washes or rainstorms max.

I would gauge durability more on slickness and waterbeading than looks. An abrasive product "polishes" the paint and improves it's look.....but the shine doesn't necessarily mean the protection is still there.

I don't find the appearance of AIO alone to be good. I know it's supposed to be able to be used alone, it is an all in one product. But it didn't look good to me. Several coats of SG or NXT and it looked far better.

I used it once alone for a few months. You'd be OK if you like to reapply it every month or so.

There's definitely another level of durability and looks with a topper

In my short time with the Klasse "twins" I can't imagine using just the AIO. The SG makes the paint look so wet, especially with atleast (2) applications! I was impressed with the AIO when I used it before I applied the initial (2) coats of SG, but with the SG the durability is going to last alot longer and then theres the shine, wetter, the "shimmer", the sheen, etc you get with multible SG's, I can't say enough. I'm actually using AIO to replace the paint cleaner and polish in my detailing steps when I do my customers rides (I detail cars on the side) I then follow it up, as suggested here, with a quality caranuba, in my case its going to be Pinnacle "signature series" to start off with, but I'll stock up some S100 and Griots "Best of Show" to really put them all to the test! Good luck with your ride! :D

i would like to use aio as a base, and top it with collinite 845. do you guys think i'd get a significantly better look if i topped the aio with sg before applying the 845? speaking of which.. how do the looks of 845 and sg differ? being that 845 is a carnauba, will it give black depth? or is 845 not that type of carnauba..

this seems to be common with a lot of products-minimal water beading when washing but moderate to good beading during rain. Personally for a 4x4 I'd top with Collinite 845 for a little extra protection.

Unless you know from past experience that you like the Griot's BOS for some reason, I wouldn't bother trying it. It's one of the few products that I literally gave away (and I keep *everything*). If you want to try something different along the lines of a liquid straight carnauba, I'd recommend Malm's instead. BOS is one wax that I really didn't like, and yeah, I tried it numerous times on many different paints. I liked the Malm's much better.

My experience with BOS is you have to have an absolutely clean surface to apply to...no fillers, glazes etc. I dont think its a bad wax but the trouble just pushes it to the back of the shelf.

I have tried Speed Wax and it is OK.....which were you referring to?

I do love the pad handles!
