Using a buffer to apply wax?

Speaking of the 845... how long do you get protection from that? I heard it lasts a long time. I have used it once... Didnt add any shine IMO, looked the same with a 50/50 over KAIO, but if it is very durable, maybe its worth the time.

I find the 845's durability to be frustratingly variable! On some paints/surfaces it lasts for months, on others it only lasts for a few weeks (sometimes I get those diffs on different parts of the same vehicle too). Never have figured out why :nixweiss

Doing a few layers/applications seems to help, I'd wait a while between them, a day or so at least or maybe doing one coat after each of a series of regular washes.

IMO you'll just have to see how it works out for you.

I wonder if its more of a weather or wash solution issue? Have you tried to rule it out? I know I have durability issues with some products and moisture either on the pad or the paint, and for that reason lately I'd rather load the pad up with more product than I need instead of having to re-apply.

Short answer: yeah, I've adequately considered *ALL* relevent variables, VERY confident I haven't missed anything ;)

Example: 845 does *NOT* last on the rear bumpercover of my wife's A8 (and not just the "extra exposure" areas, I mean the whole thing). Period, no matter what I do/don't do :nixweiss My #16 lasts a lot longer, which "shouldn't" be the case, but is. The 845 lasts about as long as....say, Souveran. Other LSPs act normal on the same panel, it just "doesn't like" 845 for some reason.

OTOH, 845 wears like iron on all parts of the beater-Audi, to an extent that simply amazes me; again, no matter what I do/don't do. Pretty much a perfect LSP for that car.

Accumulator, if it's worth your while enough, have you considered contacting Collinite to share your observations? I'm betting they'll be very receptive to your feedback and maybe offer some insight. I hear they're open to discussing the content of their products and such.

It give me about one moth protection on my truck which I would say is good since I always leave it outside, and wash it every week.

Do you know of any other waxes that have the same protection but add more shine?

Wow. I guess stranger things have happened.

I like applying wax by hand with a foam applicator because I find it therapeutic. Others milage varies greatly of course. I also like 2 coats at a minimum if I have time to do it.
