Used wheel help please

A member of another forum recently sent me a set of 04 F150 Lariat wheels and center caps for my 05 Lariat(different color). I would rate their condition at 85-90% for a year old wheel. There are some scratches around where the center caps and the balance weight were taken off. There are also some random light scratches on the faces. In addition, the center caps have a few light scratches in the paint and on the chrome. How would any of you go about reconditioning these wheels before mounting them on your rides. I don't really have the first clue. Another F150 forum member told me to wash thoroughly with nxt, use scratch x, and wax with liquid nxt. The center caps they said to just wax. The wheels are painted aluminum. Help

Because they're painted, you treat them like any other painted surface.

Wash with a wheel cleaner or degreaser, clay them, polish out any scratches you think would be repairable, and put a sealant on the wheels. Liquid NXT wouldn't be a bad choice.

I have a F150 ('05) and know what finish is on them. I agree w/ trying Scratch X (for any light scratches), and as for cleaning, A2Z will take care of any old brake dust or marks from the old weights.

You may think about sealing the wheels w/ wheel wax or Poorboy's wheel sealant to make them easier to clean in the future.

ON A SIDE NOTE: you really have to work the scratch x to get results.
