I was getting my sapphire blue Miata ready for its winter coating of Klasse twins. I washed and clayed in the dark last night. Went in to find some broad stroke marring most likely from the claying. Removed those with 3M Fine Cut Compound using a PC and a white polishing pad. I also went at the deeper scratches using that and was quite amazed at how effective it was. I followed that with DACP using PC and white pad over the whole car. Everything is fine and looks marvelous but we all want to take it up another notch. It just seems that despite looking very good already, the reflections from the paint could stand some more clarity and smoothness. Mind you, I am really nit picking here. It also seems that I have extensive orange peeling that, despite previous polishing, is still evident. My cousin's Mini Cooper S (see my gallery) is almost the same exact color and his paint is just about flawless.
I have Menzerna FP and AIO. Should I do FP first and make some (minor) improvement on the DACP or should I just jump ahead to AIO? I have another white pad and a gray pad available for the PC and several MF pads to do the job manually. Is it worth the extra effort?
Thanks. I value your collective thoughts on this.
BTW, Merry Christmas to all!!!
