Use of a Glaze with High End Waxes

I use RMG by hand. I've applied it with a PC/megs tan pad. Cant tell the diffenence. I currently have it under #16.

I'm wondering what the durability is like under a wax. RMg seem to add to the slickness.

I always apply hd cleanse, cleaner fluid, or p21s paintwork cleanser before concorso/concours/vintage/mystery whatever. I figure, why not? The paint is always as close to perfect as I can get it, and it doesn't take much time...plus it gives me a chance to go around the car and clean up any trouble spots before I wax.

Now, why did I quote Mr. Bee? Well, I have to disagree with Todd on this one. I prefer CF to RMG by a long shot. I much prefer P21S PWC to RMG. RMG is good, but I seem to get a more dramatic difference from P21S or CF, and P21S is just as cheap and as easy to use (all imo, of course!).

I'm *finally* down to my last bottle of HD-Cleanse. When it's gone, the moose will be loose. Can't wait to finally try this stuff.

And like the above poster asks.... machine or hand application?

Picus! Good to see you posting again, man. :)

And I really appreciate you spending more of my money... er.. I mean your input on pre-wax treatments!

I think I'll just bite the bullet and get all of em: RMG, PWC, and CF. It's not like they'll go to waste, right?

Edit: And just to muddy the waters a bit more, what do you guys think of Ultima's pre-LSP cleaner? I'm having a senior moment and can't remember the name of it right now.

I am actually looking to try another pre-wax cleaner, as I am attempting an (almost-just spot correction) non-abrasive prep this year. If I'm in a pinch then I may even go back to my mother's prewax cleaner after claying right b4 the polish work.

Who knows......I may even try Ultima Pre lsp cleaner if its non-abrasive.

You'll use 'em all. :) I personally think CF *looks* the best, but of course it always gets topped anyway, so it doesn't really matter (I don't find the end result looks any different). I like PWC the most overall because it looks good, is super easy to use, is cheap, and doesn't dust (which is a problem I sometimes have with RMG).

You mean UPPP? If so, it's mildy abrasive.

Picus: I think Scottwax has said what im going to say, which is if you get a lot of dust with RMG then your using to much! Really, when its applied you should hardly be able to see it and your cloth should have a little red/pink dust tint to it when you buff.

That or I am buffing it off too soon. I know it's user error definitely, because so many people use it successfully. That said, it's impossible to screw up with PWC, which is why I tend to use it more often. Sometimes I don't want to have to wait for RMG etc... but ya, the dust is definitely my fault. :)

Very good info in this thread. I've been wanting to use RMG for a while now, but I may try the other two.

Sorry for the newb question. Can someone tell me what P21S PWC and CF is?

Yikes, the CF is pretty expensive. I shoulda figured that since it's Swissvax. Think I'll stick with the p21s and RMG for now.

PWC - I think this refers to Poorboys Polish with Carnauba.

P21s PCW - P21s Concours-Look Wax

Do you mean Ultima Paint Prep Plus? I like it. It is not a cleaner, but a mild polish that also increases the durability of UPGP. It leaves a nice gloss as well, especially if you apply it with a finishing pad. I recommend it before UPGP.
