**URGENT** Run in at the track! **PICS***

I'll stick with my highway racing...

Yah I agree that's a MUCH safter idea.... :angry

Well...coming from a place where there's tons of idiots around... I give this guy credit for LEGALLY RACING HIS CAR....

He was pushing his car, in a legal way, on a course it was meant to be raced on...Not streets. It's a whole lot better him finding the limits of his car on a legal track and hitting a tire barrier, as apposed to him crippling someones daughter if he lost control on a public street... So for that I give him credit.. It does suck that it got scuffed...But it could be a lot worse...

Going a few inches off the line is one thing (and means you blew it and got a crappy ET), but the only times I've left the track where when I was utterly stupid ;) The fastest guys I've ridden with (pros) were so smooth and within the bounds of control that you had to see their (near track-record) laptimes to know they were driving fast, it felt like a drive to church except for the g-forces.

But yeah, unexpected water can be something else, don't mean to sound all :nono about a situation I didn't witness :o

Without seeming rude or hostile, I dont remember asking for comments reguarding the spin.It had rained heavily that morning and also had a few showers before and during the event (At laguna Seca). So if you'd like to comment on racing skills....or practicing racing or mother nature just taking over, send me a PM so I can furthur explain my friends situation. EVEN THOUGH it is completley irrelavant to the current qustion I have for you guys.

IF I wanted information reguarding racing to furthur pass onto my friend, Im pretty sure id ask my track/autox guys on a different forum. But this is not the case, I came for detailing information so that I could help a friend...NOT to be lectured on driving ability and or comments you expect me to pass on to him. :beware

So please stick to the subject at large.

Thankyou

Exactly why he got this car....to be a TRACK CAR. With 6 point roll cage and completly stripped interior. Easily the safest car I have ever driven in.

Back on topic... :woot:

cosmom3- Sorry, got caught up in the off-topic comments. You're right, I'll go delete the offending post. Threads sometimes go off-topic here, not that that's any excuse. I really didn't mean it to sound the way it came across (Accumulator removes foot from mouth).

Those scratches look pretty severe for the PC, but if you get something aggressive *but still PC-friendly* you might get 'em knocked down to where the owner will be OK with hem. At least they'll be less noticeable and that might be just fine for a track car. I'd try something more aggressive than the Scratch-X (which you'll probably find handy to have around anyhow).

1Z Ultra followed by their Paint Polish work well by hand/PC, but you'd have to order them. I'd probably try 3M PI-III RC (05937) with a 4" pad myself, following with PI-III MG (05937). I know, I keep recommending those and saying how they're out of production, but I know there're still bottles out there; my local autobody/paint supply place has them on the shelf.

Again, sorry about the earlier post; as you said, that wasn't the topic of the thread and as I said, I wasn't there. Sounds like a well set-up car for the purpose and like the owner knows what he wants to do with it and how.

I appreciate your response, and I totally understand topics getting off subject as my site does the same thing every day (norcalbmw). I was just some what annoyed because I posted (URGENT) as to get any information and all information as quick as possible. But dont worry Im not flipping out, Ive been guilty in the past of the very same thing, I just wish people wouldnt pass judgement on some1 or any situation when they were not there. Also I dont appreciate people taking cheap shots on the internet, I rather people show the same respect to a person as they would in person.

Thanks so much for the advice though, Im gonna give it a try and then look for the products you suggested

I've lost count of how many times I've said that myself :D Check the PM I sent. I suspect we'd get along pretty well in person ;)
