URGENT: Paint on my bumper and hood!

Help needed ASAP; I have what appears to be paint on my bumper and hood...I can scratch it off but its all over the bumper and would take forever to scratch off.

Please advise on what I use to take if off safely. I have a PC 7424 and many other detailing products.

Thanks,

JP

how much paint is it? is it like someone dumped a can of paint on your car, or like it got spattered/overspray?

That's what "overspray clay" is for. You could use the Megs, but it may leave some residue, or go with Clay Magic or Mothers.

Just use lots of lube!

Well, it worked and I got about 90% for the paint overspray off and probably need to go over it again in better light. I went through 1 clay bar...it was that bad...most of my hood, both side mirrors and entire front bumper were covered with it. I still can't figure out WTH happened & where. Grrr! O well, it's much better now...thanks for the advice...I didn't realize clay bar could be used for such situations.

Next question, I assume I need to rewax all the areas I used the clay bar...true? Please advise.

Thanks,

JP :)

I usually do, there have been debates about it, but it's never a bad idea to wax if you're unsure about it. I believe Zaino's site states their clay bars remove waxes.

You may check your windows for overspray too. If it was on your hood, it more than likely got on your windsheild too. I had the same thing happen to me. Took about 3 days to get it all. I kept on finding more on different parts of the car, including my wheels. Having to clay for body shop overspray is frustrating, but you do get a sense of accomplishment out of it. :)

Yeah, there is still a little here and there...I plan to clay the last of it off tomorrow and detail those areas again. I just detailed the whole car 3 weeks ago! :(
