UPP Users, feedback please

Last Sunday my friend received his bottle of UPP & UPC and we tested it out on a black car. The looks is very impressive, wet and shiny. But what impress us the most is the slickness it produces, the slickest sealant I have tried so far.

For the past 3 days, it has been raining pretty often over here and today me and my friend met up for lunch, felt the car again, the UPP slickness on the car was almost gone, althought the car still looks wet and shiny.

We prep the car with OP, followed by UPC than UPP. The sealant had 12 hours of curing time before it started to rain. Is there anything I missed out in my procss that affected the peerformance of UPP or it's just that UPP does not like water ?

I had the same experience with UPP. After the second or third week, it seemed the finish was dead. I tried various combinations including AIO, VM, and 215 . . . no luck

The slickness is caused by oils, and the rain washed them away.

Good news is, UPP is easy to re apply.

I get about 3 weeks with it. I found it to be one of the single most disapointing products for durability along with EX-P. Both are a breeze to apply and look good, but I no longer use them. I've given away samples of UPP and have been trying to sell the rest as well as the EX-P.

Nothing in my region of the country has lasted except a quality carnauba (I have not tried Zaino).

People worship UPP. For me, I can't get rid of it fast enough :D

Have you tried layering UPP?

There was 2 layers of UPP and after 3 days of shower, the slickness has dropped drastically.

Personnally I don't really find the product oily but if the slickness get wash off so easily than how am I going to use it on my customers' car ?

I've found it to last pretty long myself.

What's your steps applying UPP and did it lasted long during raining session too ?

My step was, this is on a brand new car too, UPC and then UPP. I always do more than one coat of any of my LSP though. I think I did 2 or 3 of UPP.

What carnauba products have you used that lasted longest on your car in your region ?

My question is this: How can this product be called Ultimate Paint Protection or even a sealant, if it only lasts 3 weeks? and if it gets washed off by rain or car-washing?

I admit that the reviews on the finish, shine and depth are very good.

But, in my experience with proven sealants, they last for months with no maintenance, except for washing and QD'ing.

Just because a product isn't as slick as it was before, doesn't mean that it's gone and not protecting anymore. It still beads like crazy when it's not slick.

That's something I did not mention, not only the slickness is gone even the water beading seems to get worse too. If the beading is still strong than I will not be that concern, at least the sign of protection is still there.

^ i agree with white95max

UPP is good but not the be all end all of sealants

For slickness I like z2 pro, it may take a little longer to feel (not immediate to touch like UPP) but after weeks, months with z8, my finishes done with z2 pro were slicker than that of upp and wg

I cannot really agree on this, if you maintain UPP with the new UPPS, I believe the slickness will also last for weeks and months. It's just that I am surprise to see that the slickness of UPP is gone with just 3 days of shower.

ah.. that could be it.. as I have the one of the first batches of UPP but dont' use UPPS..

its simply too hard and takes too long to get in canada.. i no longer use it

I agree... The real test is TIGHT BEADING.

Z2 pro will bead for months. I'm reading that UPP is "Sheeting" after a few washes.
