UPP durability?

I barely get a month to a month and a half with my UPP.

But it DOES make a difference if you apply AIO underneath it.

When it's AIO/UPP instead of just clay/UPP, I get a good 2 weeks to a month extra out of it.

I find this to be the case in a lot of my LSP's (845, UPP, Natty's).

I never got more than 6 weeks out of UPP myself. Looks great for 2 weeks or so, very easy to apply, very slick on application, but I never did get any durability out of it, whatever vehicle I was detailing.

After 4 weeks of not being washed, there are too many dirt particles on the surface to allow beading to occur. The beads are getting pulled apart by the adhesive forces presented by the contaminants on the surface.

I was talking about after washing. No beading then either.

I agree with your observations.

Tried UPP, was very slick, looked great...for a very short amount of time (measured in weeks, not months). Beading went away very quickly also. Reminded me a LOT of Wolfgang...

Last weekend after polishing my truck, I applied two coats of UPP, 18 hours apart. Looked and felt fantastic. This weekend I washed and afterwards the slickness is gone. Very disappointed!

Doesn't DACP contain some oils? If it does, wouldn't that inhibit the UPP from properly bonding to the surface? Maybe a wash or an IPA wipedown was needed before the UPP application?
