UPGP Trim Removal

I have a few spots where I applied a little UPGP on to some black plastic trim accidentally, is there a good way to get this off?

In this case I would estimate you will need to use some form of strong soap to strip the UPGP or even an APC. Knowing UPGP it may take a few application to fully strip it away.
 
To tell you the truth Troy, I've gotten some Ultima Paint Guard Plus on some black plastic trim and didn't see a whole lot of difference between it and Ultima Tire & Trim Guard. :dunno:
 
UTTG is a lot more greasy, it wont flash like UPGP will.

To get it off, APC and or about 6-7 months of waiting, its durability is awesome!
 
If you feel like you need to remove it, try using a product like Griots Paint Prep or Optimum Power Clean APC. Scrub lightly with a soft bristle brush and rinse.

Reapply UPGP to the painted areas around the trim to ensure you have complete coverage.
 
If you see some difference in the trim where it was applied... As in it's darker there just apply it to the rest of the trim as well. Or better yet apply UTTG to it and to the rest of the trim.
 
The trim where the UPGP touched has a milky tint to it. Its not real noticeable but I wanted to get it off. I have UTTG on its way, actually should be here today, but I didn't know if applying UTTG over those spots would look different than the rest of the trim.
 
I've removed UTTG with a strong dawn mixture and APC. It took a few washes but I got it off.

I sprayed APC on the trim let it sit while I got a bucket of water and mixed in the dawn liquid. I probably did a gallon of water and a couple of ounces of dawn (I didn't really measure. The first wash got most of it off but not completely so I repeated again.
 
As suggested a light all-purpose cleaner will safely remove it, it may take a couple applications. IF the trim is textured you can also try a soft nylon brush to agitate the APC and clean it faster.

Wow! That is definitely odd. I've never seen it do anything but protect trim. Then again I suppose I haven't gone out of my way to put it on more than a couple trim materials. I'm pretty sure the UTTG will take car of it but I guess it can't hurt to just apc it.
 
Before I removed the UPGP on the trim I wanted to see if UTTG would look any different if just applied over top of it so I tried. I ended up not removing any of the UPGP but applied the UTTG over the rest of the trim and couldn't tell any real difference in color or shinyness. I'm going to keep an eye on the spots to see if it wears or looks any different over a few days.
