UPDATE!! Current Dual Action Polisher Comparison - Garry Dean - Tampa, FL

Yes, they carry my Cord Control Clip. They began carrying it back in March.

This could be seen as a conflict of interests if they started carrying it for you around the time you made a new video where you start praising their polisher. I'm glad to see that's not the case.

That can be a positive thing if 3D is using their detailing knowledge and experience to design products and tools that make all our jobs easier.

I do not say or promote anything from 3D that I would not say about any other company or brand that felt strongly about. I have said it before and I will say it again. Tunch and the 3d team and I have a fantastic business relationship, but if I thought any of their products sucked I would tell you. I have my own product line that is developed specifically for me so I do not regularly use 3d/hd products. I have tried nearly all of them and I can honestly say they have a solid line. Do I think their products are the best ever...? Well, I think detailing products are based on the opinion of the user.

The purpose of a side by side comparison was to show you all exactly what the polisher could do on film.

I would love to see this polisher blow up and sell out, but the reality is that it doesn't affect my pocket either way.

I did this video as a service to the detailing community to try to help you all better understand what you can expect from all of the different dual action polisher offerings.

"Tied up" comes off as having a negative connotation, which it is not. I think alot of people like what 3D/HD is focused on doing. And that's to grow this forum as well as their product line in a positive manner.

I think they are saying my credibility is in question here, David... What a shame...

It is a shame....A shame that they don't know you well enough to think differently. :biggrin1: This review was as straight as an arrow IMHO.

To the contrary, actually. Garry Dean is not "tied up" with 3D/HD. 3D/HD are "tied up" with Garry Dean. ;)

I could see you thinking that might be a problem if his Cord Control Clip were part of the HD Polisher kit (which really, it should be part of the kit), but it's not. And even if it was, so what? He posted an honest review (I didn't hear him say this machine was flawless in every conceivable way, did you?) and there's no impropriety in that whatsoever.

Yeah I am quite sure Gary is willing to flush his reputation down the toilet so he can sell a few pieces of plastic for $9.99. ***, you must be joking sir and should apologize. In general, these guys give of their time and expertise for free and I for one appreciate it. If you doubt their honesty or the veracity of what they say, you need not participate in the forum. Ok I am done.

Well I'm going to open my big mouth here even though I'm old enough to know better. I'll start with 3d and its crew. I'm grateful for Tunch, Ben and all the mods and for allowing us to discuss various competitors brands without fear. If 3d owns and pays the bills here they have all the rights in the world to promote their products. I never have had a problem where a forum mod or 3D rep has tried to force a product on me or knock the product being discussed. When Mel came on here I gave him the benefit of the doubt even though his type of promotional style didn't impress me much. We now see where this has gotten us to. Very disappointing considering the break given him by 3D.

Another item that comes to mind is that 3d has allowed competitors to discuss their products on the forum openly which rarely happens on other forums. With this practice I have discovered the products of Garry Deans Premium Custom Detailing, Rob Regan's Towelpros ,Sonax,Wolfs and Valguard and DrivePur products plus a few that slip my mind. Gentlemen in my book this is what sets Autopia.org apart from other forums I frequent. So for now I'll get off my soapbox and mix myself an adult beverage.lol.

I still can't help but think that certain folks like to throw sh!t around because they know they can get away with it. Any other forum would have dropped the ban hammer a long time ago. I'm not saying it's called for, but it shows how open this forum really is. Everyone should at least respect that.

In the world of business nobody will bite the hand that feeds them, i wonder if 3d will provide a polisher to someone who has no affiliation with 3d for a comparison as well. Its seems the product went from being intolerably loud to being the best. It would be great if a hobbyist would do a comparison also, maybe someone who is well know on another forum.

Because obviously no one on THIS forum can be trusted....

You should buy a polisher and let us know what you think.

Maybe you should watch both videos again so that you realize that my opinion on the polisher did not change at all from the first impression to the update.

Yes, the sound is louder and different... Who cares... Everyone is an internet wiseguy...

I for one do not think this is the case here. I don't have any connection to Garry or his products other then being a consumer that has used some of his stuff.I have watched most of his videos (and there are many lol) in which he gives a honest opinion.Good or bad Garry has always been straight up honest.I think soon enough these polishers will be in enough hands that feedback will be forth coming from both pro's and DIY's alike.

First of all let me start out by saying I think both of you are great detailers and do a lot for the detailing community. You were trying to do an unbiased demo on the DA polishers, but was also trying to sell your Cord Control Clip (3:09) on the vid.

Of course I was... Where is the problem with that? My videos are advertisements for me and what I do... They also happen to be informative and a tad entertaining... Again, I ask you, Sir, where is the problem?
