Uno and VW Clear?

The primary car I will be working on is my 2007 VW Passat (Granite Green-light grey/green) that is in very good shape. Only light marring from 5 years of hand washing.

Am I wasting time/money even considering the 3D Green pad (or LC White Flat pad) since the VW clear is very hard? Should I just go with either a 3D or LC Orange pad?

Also, when applying Poxy is there any real advantage going with the 3D Red pad over the LC Blue Flat Pad?

In general is there a real advantage to the 3D pads over the LC Flat Pads as the 3D pads end up being more expensive since you can't mix and match in the 6 packs. 9 LC 5.5" Flat pads--about $53 9 3D 5.5" pads--$78 (mixed colors for each)

I always try to use the least aggressive pad to minimize marring, but that's just me.

As far as 3D pads vs LC pads, I dont know the difference since I only have LC pads and they work for me. I do need new pads and will be buying some in the future.

UNO cut is based on pad. Get a good variety of pads. At minimum you will need Cut, Polish and Finish. That said, VW clear is pretty hard, you'll need the cutting pads for sure.

The orange pad will finish extremely well, you could actually stop there and put on Poxy. But another step will up the gloss, no doubt, like the red pad or even the green one. But as Dan pointed out wisely, always have more than enough pads on hand.

Post pictures.

PS: ANY brand of pad will work.
