I've taken a lot worse swirling than that out with SSR2.5 with yellow LC pads followed by SSR1 with white LC pad "on black paint". I would start with SSR2.5 yellow pad or what ever equivilent cutting pad you have, work it in at 2 - 3 PC speed for about 20 seconds then at 6 untill it starts to disappear. You may have to do this a couple of times, then follow with SSR1 with a polishing pad. If you do this those swirls will definitely come out.:xyxthumbs

I suppose maybe I had the speed too low. Should the SSR be almost toally invisibe when I am done? I just seemed like I would have had to do several more passes for this to happen. How fast should the machine be going with the SSr 2.5 and the SSR 1? Maybe I just didn't work it long enough.

Yes it will go dull. I don't have much experience with SSRs but I do with Menzerna and Megs. The principles are the same. An aggressive polish with an aggressive pad at aggressive speeds will dull down the finish. That's ok!
Sometimes it takes all that to remove bad swirls on hard paint. That's why you finish with a finishing polish to bring back the gloss. As long as it's not *too* dulled-down, you'll be fine.
Try one panel with the aggressive combo just mentioned. Then polish with SSR 2.5 with a white pad; then finish with SSR1 and a finishing pad. See how you go with that.
Remember, after spreading the polish on a 2x2 area at speed 3, do one pass at 4.5 moving very slowly (2' per second) overlapping at 50%, moderate pressure. Then turn up to 5, same arm speed, less pressure. Keep working it in like that until it starts to go clear or oily looking.
BTW, there's no such thing as 5.5 on a PC; it's either 5 or 6...there's no increments between 5 and 6. Stick to 5 IMO. I only go to 6 with finishing polishes to burnish the paint. Others have a different methodology.

When I work in a polish this is the speed I do my passes at:
SSR1 should remove any hazing, if not go over it again with SSR2.5/polishing pad, work it a bit longer and slow down the passes then follow up with SSR1
I sometimes check my progress (especially with a new polish) by wiping off an area and seeing the progress...checking it every few passes after the initial inspection until the desired results are achieved.

Try using Scratch X by Meguair's and buffing pad. I took out alot of damage that looked like that with SX. It's very easy to use. Try on a 6"x 6"are by hand first and you'll know.
I never saw the paste get that oily, I think I may have been going to fast. Is it dangerous to goto 5?

Sorry, that is Menzerna, SSR breaksdown differently, but the point is to show the speed of the passes and that all polishes will go through stages as they breakdown.
The dullness is not working the product long enough...work it longer and check a spot periodically (the method I said in the previous post) until you get the feel for how the product works.
