The main area I have gotten wax/polish on is the door handles and fender flares. If you are familiar with late model GMC trucks, these pieces are made of a rough plastic.
Is it bad to polish and not use a sealant? I think I read somewhere that you should, so hopefully I didn't do any damage. I guess you would have to have all of the wax off before sealing as well right?
I use the Klassse twins on plastic, but not rubber. It works as long as the plastic hasn't already been neglected too much (UV damage, etc.). The AIO oughta clean off any wax that's on there. But hey, it's kinda an outside-the-box application that might not work as well for others as it does for me.
If that's not practical or doesn't work, I use the Autoglym Bumper Care, which is just *my* product of choice as such dressings go. It does an OK job on wax/polish stains too. Doesn't last forever, but it's better any many such products.
Polish then use a wax *or* a sealant. It's not like waxes aren't any good just because there are sealants available these days.
