Just got new 18 inch shadow chrome mag wheels on my car and want to do a complete preparation and sealing process



What would you guys suggest

I am thinking, diamondite speed clay, p21s polishing soap, clearkote VM or 3M imperial hand glaze and then poorboys wheel sealant



Also I am interested in what you guys do to your wheels?
 
i tend to recall zaino's website stating it can withstand a rediculously high amount of heat.



dont know if the new formula affects that ability at all, but when it comes to wheels and big brakes this may be a factor to consider.
 
I like AIO & SG (x2) -- but I have summer & winter alloys; the specialty wheel sealants never have given me the results like the Klasse twins...
 
I don't know how much prep new wheels would need but I get pretty good results using either the regular Moose Wax or Wheel Wax.
 
I go with the Klasse twins most of the time, but UPP is working well on the S8's wheels.



If Shadow Chrome is an actual plating process then stuff like VM/IHG isn't gonna do anything beneficial. Might compromise the bonding of the LSP too. I'd just seal them with the product you like and wash with regular shampoo.
 
When I got my wheels back in early late August (I think), I washed them, AIO with a foam app, and WG x2. I gave each coat of WG about an hour to dry before buffing the excess, and allowed 8hrs+ between coats.



Last week I was able to reach back to the inside of the wheel and give it two swipes with my mitt, and it looked brand new. :xyxthumbs
 
Very interesting, I have had klasse twins on my other wheels but forgot to take the SG off before driving, so they got baked on

Removal is difficult but as far as durability goes, they are the best

Yea, I use the K twins, my car and wheels never looked better.

BTW, this is what my wheels look like with AIO/WGx2. You can kind of see the inside too, which came clean with a simple wiping with my wash mitt. :)

DO NOT USE IF YOUR WHEELS ARE CLEAR COATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the stuff on UNCOATED metal ONLY.



I recommend AIO topped with a Collinite wax
