Ultimate Snow brush?

Ok so I have been diagnosed as being an obsessive compulsive car detailing nut. In the past I didn’t care what kind of snow brush touched the finish of my car. Now that I put so much care into the finish I care about everything that touches it. I found this brush and am curious if anyone has experience with it.

I'm sure that brush is better than the plastic bristled ones from wal-mart or such, but I don't let the brush touch my surface. I will take the brush and get the majority of snow off and leave about 1/2 inch or so of snow left on the surface. I'd rather have a little snow blow off that potentially scratch the paint. Hopefully someone will give you some info regarding that brush but thats my .02.

I never brush the paint anyway..
I just do the windows and I ll clear off the snow by hand..
if it's really piled on top..I ll brush off as much as I can without going near the paint..that's all..
I have seen people brushing their car as if it were teeth...and then using the squeegee part to finish it off..ouch!

Not to mention that add reads like a b.s. story.

"$40.00" slashed through with a "was $45.00"..woopy doo.
His reputation is on the line??? What reputation...who is this guy??
Sounds like a load of crap to me...
"Kinder than other brushes??"
Kinder??? What does that mean?..it will scratch the paint like the others but in a kinder way???
This just makes me laugh...

I'll buy another california car duster before I buy one of those snow brushes. :hurl I'm all about being safe while driving, and there is nothing worse than trying to drive with a blizzard blowing off your hood or off the back of a car in front of you, but there are still ways to get most of that off without ever touching your paint. I would rather that my car be encased in ice durring the winter anyway. That way I don't have to worry about anything touching the paint at all.

I agree about the reputation thing. Oh my... some nobody's reputation is on the line! Surely it must be a good product if he...what was his name again?....is going to put his reputation on the line. For $40 bucks that brush had better be made out of carbon fiber and improve performance before I flush money down the toilet on it. The sad thing is that someone out there is buying them I am sure. Someone with waaaaaaay too much money and not enough common sense. its not the brush that I worry about. Its the dragging of ice and dirty snow over my car that freaks me out. I don't care how gentle your brush is. I could drag the softest microfiber in the world over a car covered in grit and scratch the hell out of it nicely.

I have been thinking about getting the SnoBrum for using when we get a really heavy snow from California Car Cover (http://www.calcarcover.com/product.aspx?id=390&cid=). I still wouldn't let it get near the paint, but I think you could use it to get down to the last 1/2 inch or snow and then do the rest by hand. Plus, it is only $20. Even using a gloved hand can scratch the finish when you are clearing snow off.

My neighbor got me one of those last year. I used it to knock the snow off my roof as it was sliding off. lol It did work pretty well to slide the snow off the top of the pile. There is no way that I'd let that thing touch the paint though. Lateral scratches like that would really be a pain to polish out in the spring. Maybe someone will invent a microfiber bonnet for those things. ;)

Just put a microfiber mitt over your glove and wipe. :bigups

Poorboy's has this nice one for only $6.

:boohoo How true, how true. I let a friend dry off my car using a microsuede mitt. Smooth as silk, but the mitt was dirty from a previous job. When I inspected the car later, my ride had nice new swirl marks on it. I've since learned to wash, wash, wash my mitts before using them again!

Great minds, doublel. Just make sure you CLEAN your mitt after every use!

Many times people forget that there is salt, dirt and all kinds of abrasive crap on the car ... all coverd with snow and ice. It makes me cringe to see the dealerships out there with their cloth covered brooms wiping a foot of snow off the cars. There just isn't a safe way (paint wise) to push all the snow from a car. I think the car gets scratched by the snow and embedded dirt sliding off of it without our help.
