I think you could probably get the same result with Megs APC used in a 4:1 mix & that's only a tenner for a gallon in concentrated form as well as being able to dilute into other mixes for all kinds of uses. Also consider Virosol in the UK from here http://www.jantastic.co.uk/acatalog/Jantastic_Household_Products_6.html

The Virosol and Multi Purpose Cleaner look very good value for money. Have you used either of the products?

No I haven't used the Virosol yet because I still have some Megs APC left but on a Boxster forum I am a member of several people have used it for wheel & wheelwell cleaning & they are raving about it, also well liked by the UK Audi TT forum as well.

5 litres of both the Virosol and Multi Purpose Cleaner work out at £16.09 posted thats what I call value for money..wheres my card gone!

Do you have any information about dilution and application of either product?

Do you really need the MPC as well as the Virosol?

I understand people have been diluting it at up to 10:1 & more for wheel cleaning etc., but I guess it's a suck it & see kind of thing.

Application, spray on, agitate gently & rinse off I think

Probably not just my head was thinking, lets buy it, its another products to try.

I will try a bottle of the Virosol. It looks like it could be used of multiple areas of the car including Wheel Wells, tyres and engine degreasing, maybe wheels if they were really bad, but id be a bit cautious on the wheels.

I'm told it's perfectly safe on painted alloys particularly if it's diluted, I think one of the guys on the Audi TT forum had the ph tested, I'll try & find the link for you

Lakecountry pads can be purchased in the UK. These are identical to the CMA pads (Lakes is the OEM supplier).

First Autobody Supplies Unit C2, Sneyd Hill Industrial Estate, Burslem, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, Tel:01872-817172

Going back a bit I now, but First Autobody Supplies only sell the 8" rotary pads. The Tel no should read 01782-817172, they are just down the road from me.

I regularly use Virosol on my alloys (well MC2 acutally but we won't go into that saga  ) and I have no problems in both strong and weak dilutions.

Any suggestions on a decent UK product for cleaning carpets and upholstery. Can't find the LGM in the uk. I quite fancy something portable but don't know what to use.

I did a side by side comparison with Mer and Resin. After washing followed by clay I applied both product to different panels on the bonnet. Both were applied in a thin layer and left for an hour. The Resin buffed easily whereas the Mer required some QD. On its own the Mer looked ok but compared to the Resin it looked notably duller.

I still think Mer may have the edge on chemical cleaning but as a one step product the Autoglym wins.
