UK Retailers Listing

Jim - very nice indeed. Can't wait to see pics etc.

leadfoot - nice colour mate. I love the RX8; my boss is thinking about getting one as she's a coupe fan but she can't choose between the RX8, the 350Z or wait for the new SLK.

Decisions, decisions....it's alright for some!

Luke, who forgot to flip back the fuel cap before taking the photo:D

Had the guy who put the numberplate on had a few the night before?

How many cars in the UK do you see with pi**ed number plates(LOTS!)

heeh vindaloo, here is the reason for the fuel cap... that was the day i got the car, and after washin it, i wanted to give it a full tank of diesel, so the car was only like 6 hours old to me...so when i went to the petrol station, i told my friend to fill er up while i go takin fotos, i think i took like 100 fotos that day hhe

Update people.

I spoke to Andrew at Lawton Automotive in Staffs ref ake pads and got nowehere! He told me that Lake make Megs pads, they're no better than Megs pads and I should stick with Megs pads.

They cost loads, he only supplies to the trade (get this - fleet valeters and refinishers) so in a nutshell give up & go away!

Think I'll try to get some from the USA instead - at least they're a bit friendlier!

Had the same response to Menzerna enquiry @ Lawton. Ended up ordering from David (Autopia), excellent service & at current ex rates, a bargain.

Just ordered some more pads myself at a great price & very reasonble carriage charge.

Also small low value orders don't attract the duty, so often it's cheaper to have multiple small orders than one large one. The costs for postage goes up dramatically as the weight increases & you end up with the VAT etc.

Was thinking same thing myself - no duty on Pakshak order as it weighed next to nothing and same on the NXT wax I got from a friendly Autopian.

Just a shame we get the standard "trade only - anyone else is an idiot" response from Lake's UK distributor!

The duty appears to depend on who sends it to you, how they mark the customs form and whether it comes via USPS or other shipping methods.

I have had a few very good results courtesy of USPS and *well marked* PaCkages ;) I'll say no more

Cheers, Tony, not paying attention obviously!

I'm sure you'd have soon found it :)

Now then all you UK autopians, have you checked out Alex's site, www.seriousperformance.co.uk lately?? It's had some new goodies added to it from Poorboys and Collinite. Also he will very shortly be able to supply a new range of quality MF's from AG (no not Autoglym!) who are in Australia. :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

I should have added that the guy at Lawton Automotive also dismissed products like DACP, Menzerna - in fact, pretty much all the stuff we all use as "auction products" - i.e. designed for short term results - not like the bulk stuff he sells to fleets. He wouldn't say any more but basically said you'll never remove swirls etc with the stuff we use!

Overall I'm afraid to say I ain't impressed at all!

I am still waiting for a returned telephone call or email responce since Nov.

As DACP etc are professional grade products, I am not sure what his issues are.

Good job I have some Megs pads is all I can say! Not tried Menzerna yet so might order some direct from David.

Bit disappointing to find someone so negative and unhelpful, especially after all the positive vibes you get here. I guess "fleet detailers" just take more time & care than us enthusiasts.......

DACP has worked for me so far so (and many many other autopians) so I'd agree that he seems a bit off base here.

Andy, he doesn't deserve the business mate. Having seen the way most 'professionals' treat our cars, then they are welcome to their products & methods.

I got my Mezerna from David, but I wouldn't bother with IP if you've got DACP as my initial impression that DACP removes more blemishes than IP although IP may be kinder to your finish.

FP looks pretty good. If you want either of these to try, you could mail me a couple of small empty bottles & I'll let you have a sample. This may be a good idea for the UK guys to try samples of each others products, save the expense of buying in case you don't like it. (Just need a source for small bottles)

Foam pads from David are also good value even inc. carriage.

I agree Jim - vote with your wallet!

I've got some small clear screw cap bottles from Boots which were about £1 each - bit pricey but I'm on the hunt for more. PM me your address and I'd be interested to see how the IP/FP works. I'll send you some NXT wax if you're interested? I also have various Mothers products available for sample (Reflections, Carnuaba Cleaner Wax, Wheel polish, shampoo)

I reckon you've probably already tried everything else I've got!

I got some of the blue foam pads - top notch IMO and easier to work with than the Megs yellow jobs.
