UK Retailers Listing

Halfords sell reasonable MF for heavy duty stuff like engines. The Pound and similar discount places sell a range of towels, some good some poor. I am sure Alex sells towels but you would have to check out the details. I would avoid the stuff from ASDA or Tescos as these are overpriced thin items which are useless.

The best thing I can think of is to look in local stores.

Hmm, we have a poundsavers here in cheltenham, will check it out...do u know if the 100% cotton towels in marks and spencer are any good? or anywhere else that sell good cotton towels for non extortionate rates?

I bought the thich Vileda MF towel's from homebase (the ones that are used to polish wooden floor's) and they are great for my wheel's and in the engine bay.

Alex does sell MF's and I've bought a few from him. Better than £ shop efforts certainly but UW still softer. See his website for prices etc.

Believe me guys none of these compare with Pakshak, I wouldn't use any of them on my paint, just the rough stuff. Pakshak MF's arrive in 2 weeks (no duty) & if you buy a reasonable amount they are fairly inexpensive, carriage is $16 to the UK. Get a bulk order between you & get the price down.

Also highly recommended is the Pakshak waffle weave drying towel, over twice the size of the Megs & cheaper if you buy with your MF's

I've just got a quote from Pakshak and been quoted $32 for shipping! This was for 10 16x16, 5 24x24 and a single waffle weave towel. Worth going back to Ranney to query shipping charge as this makes overall order quite pricey (sounds worth it though!)

As a PS if anyone is interested in going for a bulk order, I'm based in Basingstoke, just off J7 of the M3 plus I also travel all over the UK on business s if anyone's interested then send me a PM or whatever. I'll hold off ordering until early next week.

There are no top quality Terry's in the UK (AFAIK), so if you need the best buy Megs. If you just need them for sills, engines, door jambs etc. buy a 50 pack from Costco for about £11.50 or so & throw them away when they get too grubby to wash.

I haven't come across any top quality MF's that you can source from the UK. That's why I have bought AG Group, Australia (fabulous MF wash mitt), Pakshak & DF (both USA).

The Megs UW is ridiculously priced at £9.99. Even with carriage & VAT etc all the Australian & US orders I have had are much cheaper (& better).

I have now built up my MF collection to over 30, but I do have 3 cars to keep clean!

Ah but I bet my dad's bigger than yours!!!!!!

didn't mean it like that ;) just meant i need loads of towels, so u can imagine how price is an issue.
