UK Retailers Listing

I moved up to Sonax Gloss Shampoo* from Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo in February 2004.

Meg's is very good but in my opinion Sonax beats it hands down (even though it's not as sudsy and doesn't smell as good).

Just my opinion.

Cal :D

BTW

Helped by *SGS my car always looks like it's just been waxed. Last time I waxed was mid August (5 months ago!) with #16.

Hmmmm, Autoglym Shampoo - I was rather unimpressed with this product.

Moved over to Meguiar's GC Shampoo and the difference was impressive, works well as a clay lubricant too (did my first clay today and was blown away by the results).

Will look out for Sonax GS, now the Meg's GC is running low.

I think the problem with Autoglym shampoo is the lack of foam and slickness but it does a good job of cleaning.

Does anyone know if the Iauto site is every coming back?

Yeh use nxt and soft wash gel, and a big tub of turtle wax lol. Soft wash gel is my fav. Gonna try gold class, sonax and get some zymol. I loved the smell. Was great.

JJ - try Mothers California Gold shampoo - smells superb and excellent results. 1Z Perls is also a bit of a treat too

Great listing LoweJackson, however I notice meguiars uk do not stock DACP, in fact it doesn't look like it is available from anywhere in the uk ?

Try www.meguiars.co.uk and look up the pro line - should be there.

If that fails, call Alex as he'll have some for sure. In the unlikely event of that failing, PM me as I have more than too much and I'll happily sort you a sample.

Can't see it on there anymore either, odd. Im sure they must still do it, I used to order all the Pro range before they had any off it on the site.

Does anybody know if you can obtain a product similar to 'QEW' in the UK, not including those completely 'waterless' car cleaning systems that you spray on and wipe over.

A QEW system would be a real advantage when I am working away and still be able to manage to safely clean my own car.

:nixweiss

Nick... I've been wondering the same thing. I really want to get hold of some more QEW myself, but shipping costs are silly as any decent amount of it is pretty heavy.

I asked Ranney at PakShak for a shipping quote on a gallon and it came to $45... the QEW itself was $35. $80 for a gallon of QEW doesn't really make financial sense IMO.

I've tried numerous searches and discovered zip.

I am suprised a product like this has not been marketed in the UK with the ever increasing 'GREEN' way of thinking and increased use of water meters.

I spoke to Alex about this and I'm sure he won't mind me kinda quoting him, in that the concern is someone using a QEW type product incorrectly and making a mess of their paint, then going after him as he sold them it.

I'm sure there are some here who use normal shampoo a la QEW - not tried it personally but on a moderately dirty car may be worth a try?

I have a tiny sample of QEW and only use it on my 205 if it's marginally dirty, otherwise I stick to normal shampoos.

I know what you're saying Andy. Some non-Autopian kinda person might try and use it with a sponge and chamois!

I use a three bucket method when using QEW - I've never had any problems with it, although it still seems very un-natural washing your car with what seems to be just plain water!

I've found when I use QEW, it helps to retain the slickness of your LSP more so than doing a normal shampoo wash... just my experience.

Hey guys just to clear up, if you phone meg's then they have mostly everything the american guys do. You just gotta ask for it. As I found out. I had to ask for the stuff they didnt have listed.

Im sure they have DACP.

Meguiars UK reason for being no longer on there site

We sell basically everything that Meguiar's make (unless there are local regulations that prevent it), but with over 400 products in the warehouse we cannot market all of these. People get confused enough over the contents of Brilliant Solutions which we still feel offers the most comprehensive range of products suited to the UK enthusiast.

We made a conscious decision only to sell products on the web which can be hand applied and/or are not easily going to cause damage to paintwork. DACP was a borderline case, but it is quite harsh and works with a machine not by hand.

There are some retailers out there who stock these more uncommon products or you can call us on 0870 241 6696.

We have EU or US thread backing plates. There may be a lead time on some items.
