There's no rush, I wasn't even expecting to have it yet.
 
Damn, I spent (many) hours searching through technical specs looking the that simple bit of information. I wish I had seen that site sooner :(
 
On the plus side, the results with a PC are well worth the wait and hassle. Dont forget to run the extension from the transformer to the PC and not from the mains to the transformer. Extension cables are cheap so not a problem.
 
I tried looking before (weeks ago) for the codes and couldn't find anything :(

Steven, what's the logic behind the extention cable from the transformer to the PC and not the mains to the transformer?

PC7424 from autopia $135.95 (approx £75.00)

Transformer from Newmarket Transformers £53.00

Backing plate from autopia $16.95 (about £9.50)

Meguiars pads approx £13 each x 4 so £52.00

Duty (B******ds!!) £25.00



Total cost around £215.00



Results..........priceless

Seriously, the PC is a must buy tool. For sure it's expensive @ around £200 (and I'll most likely get some Lake pads at some stage) but the results are awesome. I managed to remove I'd say around 80% of the swirls which have been bugging me so much - and that it's not a higher success is more than likely down to my inexperience with the PC.



Do it - you will not regret it!
 
Mine cost (at todays rates) £135 inc shipping, duty & UPS handling charges (get it through customs etc) but that includes backing plate & 6" counterweight (Coastal)

Not much to choose really. Support Autopia if there is not much different.
 
The extentsion cable thing - not sure why. I have seen several people at work using small 110v transformers and all use the 110v extension cables. If I get the chance I will find out.
 
I've gone and done it!



Just ordered my PC from the Autopia shop. Bought the basic PC plus the 5" flexi backing plate. I'm gonna get some Megs pads from Alex once I've got it. Cost was $194.90 inc. shipping. I think that is approx. £115. When it arrives, I'll let you know what the Import Duty and VAT comes to.
 
Its so tempting with the good exchange rate at the moment. Looks like there another item on my ever increasing list of detailing supplies
 
Had an email from Autopia earlier - my PC is on it's way already! Excellent service from Autopia - fully recommended!



It's like waiting for Christmas all over again!!!!!
 
Another question's popped up here ref the actual use of the PC.



I have the 1 KVA Newmarket transformer. I plugged my extension cable into the mains and then I have to run a further extension from this to the transformer. I plug the PC into the transformer and I'm still here so assume this is the right way?



Reason for 2 extension reels is that my garage is behind my house and I have to run the cable up the garden, over the fence, behind & up the side of mine & neighbour's garage, through a gate and across neighbour's drive to get to mine.....



.....and yes, I am thinking of putting electrics into the garage!

Everything seems OK. The lead running from the mains socket is a heavy duty reel which I've had for a while and was bought precisely for use with tools etc. It's 30 metres long. The 2nd lead which goes from this to the transformer (can't bring myself to call it a tranny - images of guys trying to be gals springs to mind!) is 15 metres and was simply a general use extension lead.



PC seemed to work fine although I am thinking of getting a longer, heavier duty cable for now until I can run power from house into garage.
