May I say this UK detailing event looks like a right piss up. Its just an excuse for a few beers and burgers........and its even suggested to be at a pub !



Detailing event my arse........ its a boys drinking session ! The only thing you UK boys will be polishing off is some Guiness or if your lucky a cold Fosters !



Now lets see............. if I could get on a Qantas flight...land at heathrow.....how much is a taxi to Yorkshire ? Gee I could make it !..........Maybe even bring some cold beer instead of that bloody warm stuff !!!



Just Joking guys I wish we had a enthusiastic bunch like you guys in OZ !
 
k2dan - cost of taxi from Heathrow to Yorkshire - don't bother - it'll be cheaper to stay in OZ and treat yourself to a PC from the Autopia shop!!!!! LOL
 
dont know lol i think people are holding back until the sun decides to touch this part of the world :D but summer is a while away yet.



tony: agreed on the sticking together part and a yorkshire meet would be nice but hey driving is also part of the fun!
 
Don't think we need to rush in just yet. Looks like we've got the worst of the winter to get through before it starts getting any better! :D.....

We know that we're all keen and that most of the regular Brit contingent will take part in whatever we decide to do, even if it means doing a bit of driving to get there.

I've said I'm quite happy to help and still am. Just need to get spring underway first.

Not forgotten this - just very busy at work etc (got to pay for my detailing stuff....)



No question that it'll be a summer meet - hopefully weather'll be warmer and all we'll need to clean off cars are bugs etc. to make em look good!



Plus I then get 5 months or so to save up to buy me a toy - no way am I bringing the Laguna! (although GF's missing the Eunos she used to have so the Ka may be on its way out - not forgotten you Alex!)
 
This is true but it's a Laguna! I need to have something a bit more exciting/interesting etc.



Will be in buying mode hopefully April time (bonus allowing) as I NEED a toy which I can keep safely tucked away in the garage and play with. Keeping a daily driver clean in this weather's a nightmare of epic proportions - and it's driving GF mad as she never sees me!



Suspect your MX5's a bit above my budget Jim but thanks for the thought anyway.



5 months from now Laguna will be at around 70k which is when it goes back to lease co (unless it falls apart before than) - but I really have to bring it to show people I guess, don't I?!!

Yes but with that PC we don't expect to see any of those swirls now do we? :D



Since I will almost certainly be there in my 170K volvo estate daily driver I really don't see what the problem is with a Laguna :rolleyes:



I spent the afternoon standing in the engine bay of the Traction rubbing down the paintwork ready for spraying some hammerite in there. Then we can see about getting the new head onto the engine and then put it all together again
