I was at WalMart just now and saw the NXT Car Wash soap. 64 ounces for $5.95. Directions say 1 oz. of soap per gallon of water.

I just bought the new PB's SS&S car wash soap. 32oz for $14.95!!!!

Did I make a mistake? Im wondering if the PB will be worth the money.

I have not used it but i hear it is super super slick which is what you are going to want to prevent scratching and marring. You can never make a mistake by buying poorboys. Thats my opinion.

If WalMart sold 64 ounces of SSS for 5.95, yes you got ripped off. However it was a different product. Technically No, as they are 2 different washes that act differently. What have you got to lose?

You could be a product bum and buy the gallon also! :lol

I have not tried it yet either, but from what I hear you will get excellent results. I love NXT too, it's a super value and a very good wash. I too have yet to regret a Poorboy's purchase.

Only reason I really question it is because I do have ONE regret about a PB purchase. SSR2. Bought it...figured my swirls were light enough but just couldn't see ANY results. I tried working it in longer; nothing! So now I have a 97% full SSR2 bottle collecting dust.

Trade it in for something else here http://www.detailcity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=52
maybe you could trade for other polish ,autowash eg. 4* autowash etc etc

Where are you located? I'd love to purchase that 97% full bottle from you.

Did you try using a more aggressive pad on SSR2 before giving up? If a polishing pad doesn't do the trick, move up to a cutting pad. It takes some time to get used to a pad/product combo.

Price is all relative to what something is worth to you.
I could have purchased a Kia for a lot less than our Pontiac GTP, but I wanted the GTP.

If cost becomes a big factor, and I know it can be for lots of people, you can buy Blue Coral shampoo for $2.99 a gallon at several stores in my area.

Back when I used over the counter Meguiar's products, I could buy their cleaner wax for $6 or Gold Class for less than $10, but I used their Medallion Premium Paint Protection for $20. :dunno
Per wash it still isn't going to cost you a lot extra.
Just enjoy it and the results you get. :)

IMHO....There isn't one PB's product that isn't worth the money!

I have found that we are Steve's(Poorboy's) main audience. Steve is very active on the boards and takes everyone's input so when a new product comes out its because Steve has received enough requests from us to make something like that! Once he starts making a product Steve tests it... he sends out samples to various people on the forum for testing...and report back to him what they like what they don't like.. they take pictures...before, in progress, after, ect. Untill Steve is happy enough to put his name on the package! At least that the impression I have gotten and ive only been a poorboy's customer for a year! You are really paying for a Hybrid product that is reasonably priced when compared to some of the other "Hi end" products on the market!

I personally have not tried SS&S so I cannot comment on its performance. I have however used NXT and love it. I think it is very slick and leaves no film behind. In addition to being slilck it is very sudsy. It takes very little (2 capfulls) to wash my car. I think for the price you cannot do better. I would try the SS&S if I need to order anything from steve but at the moment I am overstocked. I have enough supplies for years.

Use the NXT wash on the in-laws car. The SSS on yours. Problem solved

Once you use the SSS you will regreat spending the $5.95

Probably, but I will bet that you will buy more from either a local or on-line supplier in the next 30 days.
It just happens.:D

You are right. As a matter of fact I forgot I placed an order with Adam's 2 days ago. I forgot two days ago. Thats a sickness.

I haven't tried Poorboy's SSS, but I have used NXT & 4* Ultimate Shampoo. You do pay a premium for the 4* (as you do with the Poorboy's), but just because something costs more doesn't always mean it's better. If you can afford it, the "premium" washes are nice, but at 6 bucks it's very hard to beat the NXT as it is a very good wash. I wouldn't consider buying detailing supplies a mistake. :)

Yes the SS&S is expensive. But when you consider the amount of product you use w/SS&S, it is a great deal. W/SS&S a little bit goes a long way, you would be hard pressed to run out of suds w/SS&S. The wash is very slick, and leaves to finish very nice. I never got anywhere near as many suds w/NXT as SS&S, and I used a lot more product w/NXT than SS&S
