Ugh HydrO2 dried on my car. What do!!

Tried out the HydrO2 on my car and it was cloudy out and car was cooling.

Got ambitious and tried to force it! Sprayed on one side, power washed off. Sprayed other, power washed off.

Wiped off the water and AHH! The streaks/drying from HydrO2 were left.

I quickly moved my parents car out of the garage and put mine in there to keep it out of sun exposure for as long as possible.

What can I do to get these streaks out of there? Just wash it with an APC or Dawn or such?

Or do I have to buff the car out and remove the top layer of the sealant??

Ugh..what a disaster and I feel like an idiot for rushing it.

On the other note...although it looks terrible the beading properties are almost instant! So at least I know I got a real bottle ;)

Any advice/help is appreciated! I should have always gone panel by panel + test spot + out of the sun as much as possible.

Lesson learned!

It shouldn't really react that way if you hosed it off. Did it dry out before you got the power hose onto it?

I should have thought that your favorite IPA type product (Eraser if you are a car pro fan) would go a long way to remove the problem and I doubt it would strip Hydro so you should be find to then forget about the whole escapade!

It must have...

I thought it was sufficiently wet and didn't dry at all (like I said. it wasn't 100% shade but close).

I sprayed car side, 10 seconds later hit it with the power washer. I ran my hood across with some HD speed and it removed it with just 2 passes or so.

it basically is the water dripping down the sides etched in...

I'll try to get pictures tomorrow morning when I go out to the car...

What's the best recommendation for removing a sealant?

EDIT: Does the HydO2 need to be mixed with distilled water to work correctly?? I mixed the ratios with regular tap water (softened from well water). Is it possible the hard water deposits did something to form this?

Just an update if anyone has this issue...I've seen it in multiple forums now after having searched.

I ended up having to buff out my entire car with some HD speed. IPA mixes, eraser, all sort of seemed to just roll off. I was able to manually kind of rub it off but didn't want to induce marring or get a sore arm so just opted to buff it and get it over with.

Not sure if I'll use the HydrO2 again or just leave it on my shelf with the other stuff that didn't work out.

Pip just gave me a heads up on this. In the future you can call me at anytime to get a fast answer.

If applied and not rinsed off in the time frame I suggest you risk this. In that case immediately take some hydro2 applied to an already wet sponge and wipe it back down.

Follow the directions I have posted and show on my site to avoid any issues.

No, it doesn't have to be mixed with distilled water although I do use it that way and recommend it.

Yes, the surface should be wet and surface cool.
