UGE over Wolfgang?

I currently have Wolfgang on my car, and my UGE will be here today. I'm sure it would probably work fine over anything, but does it have to be used over UPP for best results/added durability? Or will it have the same effect on other polymer sealants such as Wolfgang?

There is a little UPP in UGE so it helps extend the life of UPP but works awesome as a standalone QD and smells so good I want to eat it !! :)

If there is a little UPP in UGE, does that mean it cannot be used above a choice topper wax?? Can anyone clarify this? I bought both UPP and UGE plus QD thinking they're three different things.

It was my understanding that it's not recommended to place any LSP on any choice wax... :dunno

Personally I love UPP but don't care at all for the UGE that I just recieved. I was looking for a comparable QD to Zaino Z6 and hoped that UGE would be the answer esp since it's available by the gallon and I often use UPP. I found it to be not slick at all (yes there was even a fresh coat of UPP on the surface) and caused my microfiber towel (autofiber elite) to drag quite badly on the paint making it a real workout to work into the surface. I switched back to Z6 halfway through with my QD session and the problem was gone. Maybe humidity had something to do with it but I didn't much care for the effort requires to use this QD.

As far as compatability...I wouldn't see any problems with other sealants as it doesn't have any caranuba in it that would prevent layering.

I used it last night on my hood, and the rear driver side quarter panel. Couldn't really notice an increase in slickness...I applied the Wolfgang 11/11 and last washed the car 11/13. I'm going to wash it today. I'll let you know if there's a difference in beading between the UGE'd panels and the others.

Audion19's-

Sorry to hear the strain of use you experienced. I have not used the UGE yet so I cannot comment on it.

Forgive me for not asking the question right. If I applied Pinnacle paste wax X2, will UGE act like a QD or more like a LSP enhancer(I know it UGE means Ultimate Gloss Enhancer)? I just don't want to have potential problems for my clients.

Thank you.

Thanks Matt! BTW do you have any pics of the before and after? Also, did you layer Wolfgang by X1, X2,X3 ??

Nice car! Miss my camaro...:boohoo

UGE (Ultimate Gloss Enhancer) is a QD (Quick Detailer) with an emphasis on enhancing surface gloss.

Has anyone read this from the Four Star website?

Ultimate Gloss Enhancer Description From Four Star

I'd say that it does what Four Star claims it will do. :bigups

Nope I don't have any pics now, but I'll take some pics after I wash it, then after I QD the whole car. Only did 1 layer of Wolfgang.

PS - I found UGE really easy to use :dunno

I have always found it VERY easy to use too! The only way to make it hard to use is to use too much or to use it on a very contaminated paint that needs clayed.

All,

I am using UGE on my red Saab. The car has about 5 layers of FMJ. I think UGE works very well with FMJ. Slick and very wet looking. Almost looks as if it is melting.

I have no idea what is going to happen when I decide to add another layer of FMJ. Will be interesting.

Thank you Blinded...I guess i was the one "blinded" by the description :brick . Just was so stubborn in that you should not layer LSP over a wax....I guess that's why it's called break-through technology:rolling

Now looking forward to using my UGE.

I've got a car to work on tonight and a car to do tomorrow so I'll use the UGE again to give it another go...I'll try to use more sparingly this time to see if maybe that was the issue. But as I stated earlier it required much more effort to rub into the surface than Zaino Z6 as well as Pinnacle Crystal Mist...I may just be too overly critical after only using it once and will give it a fair shake. My intention is to find a QD that i can purchase by the gallon for customer cars as Z6 isn't an economical option for cars other than the ones that always sit in my driveway.

I'll report back in a couple of days on what I find.

Andy
