The flex doesn't replace a rotary or a PC. The backing plate design is a hindrance, it cannot run smaller pads (i.e. 6", 5.5", 5", 4", 3"), its not as maneuverable as the PC for waxing, AIOing, and running carpet brushes. The flex doesnt have the overall capability of a rotary to do serious correction, the makita finishes better and is a bit faster. You can have two machines for the price of one, and finally with the recent issues with burning BP, why get a flex again?
