UDM died

I see that 95% are brush failures, isn't it a very easy fix? (to replace the brushes). I was wondering - what if I change the brushes myself, would I loose the warranty?

I ordered a refurb.. I guess the refurb probably will not have the motor brush issue?

My refurb died yesterday, the first day I used it. I'm not sure what exactly failed but I had turned it off to bump up the speed, turned it back on, and it didn't come back on. But Lynn is taking care of it. :up

Ouch.. I pray this doesn't happen I am amped up about polishing my car and my wife's car this week when it arrives.

I'm on my third UDM as we speak. Love the customer service at perfect shine, always had one being sent by UPS after letting Lynn know about the problem. This third one is holding up and I am crossing my fingers. Good luck with yours.

Do you pay for shipping to return the defective one?

So whats the general consensus on this? I'm begnning to think I need something a bit stronger than my PC. The Udm seems  but I dont want to invest in it if it has problems :nixweiss

Moving from a PC to a UDM isn't much of a Jump. Either look into a Flex 3401, or a rotary.

Welcome back.

Mine died today, during a customer's detail. I felt really bad and embarrassed, but things happen. Just sent Lynn an email, today.

My second one died today .. it was a replacement for the one I was having issues with .. now that I check the paperwork closer on the replacement its a refurbished one .. I got about 8 details out of it then it wouldn't hold speed set on 3 or lower and shortly after would not turn on unless I slapped it or I wiggled the cord etc. .. Fortunatly I had a PC backup and it was my daughters truck I was doing ..

E-Mail into Lynn as we speak ..

Thier customer service on the first replacement was great. :2thumbs:

Just an update .. these people are awesome .. Question asked Sunday and resolved Sunday... ya can't beat that. Kudos :goodjob
