UCoat-It Garage Pics - finally!

well, after 4 days of drying i noticed about 3 small places that i missed with the topcoat/gloss :(

ucoat-it sells a touch-up kit, but it's $40 and one use only...that sucks

It does look very good, how many hours total did it take you to do it?

prepping the garage floor took the longest, about 3 hours. then each layer only gives you 1 hour of pot life before the epoxy gets too thick in the bucket. i will say their customer service is EXCELLENT in answering all techincal questions before i started!

total time about 6 hours including taping.

Looks great!!!, just stay a little longer off the floor than they recommend. Just give it more time to cure. Looks so wet and clean!!!!!!!:bow

6 hours isn't bad. How long did you have to wait between coats?

Any reason you didn't do the footing? Since you didn't if you want to really give your garage a very sharp image, try either putting covebase (rubber baseboard) or if you really want a sharp look get some checker plate aluminum and put that along the edge. You'd be amazed how that just looks so sharp.

between coats it was about 24-36 hours depending on how fast it was drying, i actually went ahead and painted the masonary block black and i'm working on a cove base next! i also installed a 7 piece UltiMate garage cabinets. when i get a chance i will pics updated pics! :xyxthumbs

update: after about two years it's holding up 99.9% - small areas about 1/4" in size lifted a little - ucoat-it sent me a free repair/touch-up kit which i haven't used yet - probably will fix the areas this spring, epoxy is very temperature sensitive.

i can only assume certain spots weren't cleaned/degreased 100%.

overall i am very happy, the shine has definitely tone down a bit, probably a reduction of 25%.

i installed these cabinets at the same time i did the floors - i'm slow at posting pics :D

i made sure my builder installed cable and speaker hook-ups

painted the cinder blocks satin black at the same time when the floor was finished - it was this home depot nano technology self- priming paint, really nice stuff.

w-d garage opener that's built into the torsion bar for a clean look - no tracks!
