U.S. preparing Chrysler for Chapter 11

Thirty years ago the car world (and the world for that matter) was much different. A lot less import pressure, lower wages etc. Also i don't think anyone is going to work for nothing as Iacocca did.



I don't know much about Fiat but it might bring them a few more years if it works out.

I believe there are a number of executives working for a dollar a year right now. And this is quite the strategic move for Fiat. They've been out of this market for what, 25 years? This gives them an opportunity to tweak some of their small cars to tune them for a US market, and build them in a US plant with a US name on them, just at the time that there is a demand for small, efficient cars.
