Two truly disgusting black vehicles - v. Audi and Tahoe

So, a nice woman emails me regarding getting her vehicles detailed before the winter. She mentions "they really need it". Instantly, I know it can't be good. To top it off, I pull up this morning and they're both black :(.

They were covered in heavy cobwebbed swirl marks, bonded contaminants, road grime, and just general filth. Washing alone took 50 mins for the Audi and 80 mins for the Tahoe.

She didn't want to have them clayed or heavily polished so I had to make due with a very thorough washing regimen, light polish, and sealant. At the end of the day, they (her and her husband) were thrilled.

I used the exact same processes on both vehicles, so only look for one cliff list...

Clean
-TOL Bubble Bath Wash
-FK1 Ultimate Cleaner cut 10:1 as presoak (bug scrubbed on lower panels as well as the nose and windows)
-TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 x 2 on tires/wells
-Meguiar's Wheel Brightener cut 50/50 on wheels
-Pressure washed like crazy to rinse

Polish/Protect
-Menzerna PO85RD via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1500 rpm
-FK1 #218 by hand on paint, windows, wheels, and chrome
-FK1 #425 to remove any streaks/haze

Dressing
-Poorboy's Trim Restorer on plastic/rubber trim
-CD2 Engine Detailer on front grille
-Meguiar's Hyper Dressing cut 3:1 in wells
-Wolfgang Tire Gel on tires

Got clarity?

Total Working Time - 2hrs 15mins

Even with that regime it is always amazing for me to fully appreciate the time that you vest into a detail and get the resuls that you do.

The pictures of the detail are very credible. The results of the detail are typical of your quality work.

Sean, You are the man! Awesome work! -Kris.

Thanks for the call tonight. You sounded tired, and now I know why :)

You are the::horse:

Now, teach John how to do that instead of buying $$$$$ in products each month!!!!!

Sean,

I need a password on DC. One day after getting high speed and my wife is taking over!!!

Great job on the black rides. That would have taken me all weekend, and as my wife says, it would have been for peanuts -or was that Jack!

-Cheers!

Nice JOb Sean!! Both look much much better! Did the po85rd do a whole lot of swirl removal? The clarity is amazing on both vehicles, but especially the audi. Great pics.

Greg

Thanks everyone :). I greatly appreciate it.

Kris: Unless you put him on some sort of drug, it will never happen, sorry :).

John: What about Crown? ;)

Greg: It did more than I thought it would, especially on the Audi. PO85 RD has always responded well on german paint for me.

Sean
Your starting point were not bad at all, But the end results are once again making all of look like amateurs.

Good job.

Now.
When are you going to teach some classes?

you must be the man to do either car inside and out for just over 2 hours... :w00t:
did you use the rotary or a pc.

do you think claying would of helped that much

Thank you all!

Rich: Classes? Look for a DVD coming sometime in the future ;).

00: Thanks, but I didn't do any interior work on either. I use a rotary, hence, "RPM". I think claying would've made my buffing job easier, yes, and also made the slickness increase in the end.
