Two paint questions

Now with this week-end's car wash, I find two things.

If it were an old car, I would say rust is starting but under the circumstances I would say it is a bubble or dirt under the paint.
Is this fixable?
By the dealer?

Next is a spot where the paint is missing/rubbed off at the wheel well, where the panel bends over the tire.
Is this a potential rust spot that should be touched up?

Thanks guys,
Suzanna

Anytime you see bare metal showing it needs something done to protect against rust. On the bubble, its hard to say what to do without seeing it.
A true bubble would most likely be rust starting under the paint. A grain of dirt or speck in the paint might be just that and not need attention unless it just annoys you and want it fixed.

I've had the car a month, made in December 2005, so I want to think it is not rust.
It's too dark to photograph now.
I live in a townhouse, no garage.

Hi TrueDetailer!
Where in Polk County are you?
My dad born, raised, buried in Haines City.
My brother, his family and my Mom live in Lakeland.
Aunt and cousins in Lakeland.

I'm located in auburndale.

You should bring your car into the dealership. Whatever it is should be covered under your warranty.

Hi Guys,

Here are a couple of the photos of the areas I was asking about.

Spot near the tire well where it looks like paint is missing.

And where it looks like something is under the paint (since the car is too new to be rusted.)

Are these dealer fixes or just let it go and live with it?
Or put a layer of wax on it and then let it go and live with it?

Thanks,
Suzanna

The fenderwell issue appears to be on a plastic bumper panel. I've seen this before on other vehicles. Unless it really bothers you, I would'nt worry about it as it will not rust obviously. The little spot on the paint is probably a contaminant that was painted over. No problem now, until you inevitably wear into it by cleaning, washing, buffing etc. Then it may become a problem. It would be a good idea to bring it to the dealers attention. That way if it rusts in the future, you documented it early. As well, they may elect to just repaint it for you.

Front plastic, seems like a piece of the paint has come of, will not rust, but unless touched up, you may actually take more paint off, when high power washing. Be carefull when aiming presssure washer in this area, so that water does not enter under and tear away more paint. Touch it up yourself, or ask a paint shop to do it. The little other one is as said before, probably a factory mistake, of overspraying, either some dust, insect or metal piece, and sealing it in your paint. probably no reason for concern at the moment, but as said before, be carefull when buffing over it, Id take car to dealer, and most probably they will repaint under warranty..
