TW Wet 'N' Black tire GEL...

I purchased a bottle of the new TW tire gel last week and decided to try it out this past Wed. I've always liked the idea of tire gels and I have tried several. I appied it with a sponge appl. and it went on really smooth. It gave the tires a dark look with some shine if you look at it as the sun shines on it. Unfortunately a front blew thru suddenly about an hour after I finished and rained the entire night but it did give me a chance to see how it did in the rain.

The next day I was pleased to see the tires were still very dark. The next couple of days it held up and yesterday (Sat) I drove thru most of the afternoon showers that we had. Today I see that my tires are still dark but of coarse not like when I first put it on. The interesting thing about the gel is that it is black like a tire. I haven't seen alot of tire gels but that's the first that color. So my first time using it, through a couple of days of rain, I've been pleased and will continue to use it along with my remaining tire gels. :up

Have a great week everyone.............V

Thanks for the review.

Do you know what kind of silicones TW tire gel is made with?

Did you buff off after applying?

Did the tire gel sling onto lower body panels or the wheels?

Did the gel apply even coat?

Where did you buy the tire gel?

What other tire gels have you used?

Sorry for all the questions.

Eric

That's OK.

I'll try to answer in order.

No, I don't know what silicones are in the gel. The bottle states "a revolutionary blend of unique silicones that resists spin-off." I beleive they all say in so many words.

Yes, I did buff it with a terry cloth about an hour and a half after applying when I saw the rain coming. And the shine did come down a little.

I really didn't notice any sling today, but the car was so dirty after driving the wet highways last night.

It did apply fairly evenly but I still had to give a second coat to get areas that I missed.

I bought it a local Autozone.

I use the TW 2001 tire gel and tire wax. ( from $ store and big k).

I also use Megs Endurance, both High gloss and low gloss. (Now those did sling off badly on my black car even though I buffed them the next morning, that's what made me go out a try others. So if anyone is interested in them...?)

I did not like EO tire gel. To me it was too much effort rubbing it on to get it even.

I've also used EF tire gel but loaned it out to a family member that misplaced it. :( I REALLY liked that one.

But I try hard to find products locally and avoid ordering if possible.

Hope this answers you ?'s.

Take care everyone........V
