Turtle Wax MF towels

What's up everyone, my name is Chris and Im new to the site...

Im curious of your opinions on Turtle Wax microfiber towels. In the past Ive always bought my car care products at local stores and all Ive seen as far as microfiber locally has been generic or TurtleWax. Is there really a big difference in the quality of TurtleWax's MF towels compared to poorboys or Cobra MF towels?

Ive looked around for microfiber WW towels and was unable to find any locally, so I plan on ordering from either Poorboys or PAC... what would be your suggestions on the best WW towel for drying?

ive heard from many people that excels towels are the best. my buddy(small business partner also) just placed an order with him and they should be in by thursday. you can either pm Patrick or go to www.exceldetail.com for more information.

I have felt the Turtle Wax towels many times while walking past them through PepBoys to get oil and filters. The pile on the towels feels really short and they are not that plush at all, for the same price + shipping you can order some really great towels. The best of the best are from Pakshak, Winners Circle, and Excel. As far as door jams and other things like that the Turtle Wax towels would be fine but for drying and buffing go with the better quality ones.

Haven't used them, but you might want to order some of the more popular brands on-line.

When you order your waffle weaves, it seems like you could add some terry MF's to the order and have both of your MF problems solved.

I have no idea what is best, but I have yet to receive a bad waffle weave from any of the more popular suppliers.

Thanks for your input guys, this site has been very helpfull thus far, I just joined last night and spent about 3 hours reading thru the Archives.

Can someone please suggest a MF starter kit, Im looking to spend about $50... I just had my integra painted 2 months ago so before its first wax I want to have all the towels necessary to complete the job. (WW for drying, a good MF for glass cleaning, and some quality MF polishing towels)

Ive been considering the following kits:

Excel Pacific or Supreme kit

Poorboys starter kit (basically has one of each towel)

Pakshak Combo special (not sure which one)

The turtle wax towels are sort of decent. They are fine as long as you have prepped the surface really well. They do not absorb water with any kind of efficiency. I would highly suggest getting either the poorboy's starter kit, or the cobra microfiber towel combo from autogeek. I personally like the cobra towels, but I have used the poorboy's towels and they are also quite high quality. The difference in the kits is that the poorboy's kit is one of everything. The cobra kit is 4 each of high, medium, and low pile towels. Depending on your use, each kit is great. The poorboy's for a more hobby-oriented detailer who can do a towel wash after each detail. The Cobra kita is more suited to a professional operation that will have to do more than one car a day. The TW towels are great for engine cleaning, they're quite inexpensive. For paint however, I wouldn't trust them.
