Turtle Wax Formula 2100 Wheel Cleaner

My dad bought me a Turtle Wax car care kit for christmas. I never used any of the products and decided instead of having them sit around I would use the wheel cleaner. After washing the rims I used the wheel cleaner to clean up embedded brake dust. It actually worked pretty good. I have silver painted aluminum wheels. The spray is supposed to be acid free. It seemed to work well on my wheels. I give this product 2 thumbs up.

The only downside was that I used 1/3 of the bottle. My wheels were dirty due to winter neglect.

How does it compare to other wheel cleaners like A2Z for example? Did you have to do much scrubbing? I've used the Rim Brite version and found it to be on the weak side compared to A2Z.

I have never used any other wheel cleaner. I use to just wash with water and soap since the car was bought new and not used much. After a year and a half brake dust started to accumulate on the inside of the wheels. Soap and water was not as effective anymore.

Concerning your other question, I did have to scrub, but it was not too bad. I thought it would be much worse since there were no acids. I did need to use a lot of product though. I had to keep the area wet with the product while rubbing to remove the embedded brake dust.
