turtle wax clay bar kit

A lot of posters scoff at TW (and for very good reason for the most part), but the TW clay bar kit is a good deal.

i got a couple for .99 or .01 at AZ when they were on clearance.

toss everything but the clay and its worth the buck I spent....I use Meguiars QD and ONR as clay lube....that other crap in the box is junk.

If your paying full price (15-20 bucks) get the Meguiars kit or Mothers kit instead.

You can make good use out of the Liquid Claybar. Think of it as a paint cleanser. Use it to scrub bumpers, rocker and lower panels clean. Do not throw it away

Agree, the liquid clay while not as effective as true clay does have a place in my opinion in cleaning some stains off the paint.

+1 on the liquid clay...it does not replace a traditional clay bar, but is a good paint cleaner and is the best product I have used for removing oxidized clear coat.

Agreed. If you think it will be the clay replacement it says it is, you will be disappointed. If you replace your regular car wash method with this on cars with tons of oxidation, you will be very pleasantly surprised. This is meant for neglected surfaces that you'd trash a clay bar with in seconds.

Hrm...maybe i wont throw away the stuff out of the other 3 boxes I didnt open...

Sorry, Im still under the impression that TW stuff has always been junk...

guess I will have to give it a try, lol.

just mix it like regular car wash soap with water? Or use it "straight up" on a MF towel like it says on teh bottle, after a car wash?

heh, it looks funny in the bottle, its seperated into 3 layers.

i got a couple of the clearance kits for AZ. I haven't used the liquid stuff but IME the clay is a bit more agressive than the other OTC clays. Anyone agree/disagree? I noticed some marring with it and this was on white paint where it's not as obvious. It did a heck of a job though. I was surprised at how effective it was.

Mix it up really well and use it "straight up." It works well on a MF- but I have found that it was more effective via a large foam applicator..

I bought a few of these on clearance for 2 bucks at pep boys- and they came with a large foam applicator with a handle (I don't believe this comes with the claybar kit)

Yep, I use it straight up on the foam pad. Rinse car well first, then use the sponge, rinsing the sponge frequently.
