Watched for awhile last night. Agreed on the detailing jobs of some of these cars. Not everyone is as picky or partiulcar as we are though. Those lights are certainly tough on those cars; that's for sure.
For anyone who watched last night, they saw a perfect example - or a whole night of examples to be more specific- of just how the prices of these classic cars are going through the roof. I paid particular attention to a '69 Camaro convertible they had on there - since I own an original '68 Camaro convertible. Maybe some of you saw it, it was black with white stripes. It was a big block, but did not have the original motor in it. The engine compartment was beat (rusty master cylinder, rusty ac compresser, aftermarket intake, incorrect windsheild wiper motor, incorrect finish on brake booster, after market fuel filter) incorrect wheels, incorrect exhaust, no factory gauges - shall I go on??
Anyway, final auction price - $54,000
A great example of what is happening to the prices of these cars. One of the commentators put it perfectly; someone sees a car that meant something them earlier in thier life (had one in high school, parents owned one, first date car etc etc) and they HAVE to own it - no matter what.
Fun to watch other people spend thier money though that's for sure. Looking forward to what the weekend brings....
