Trying to understand Carnuba and Acrylic interactions

I am still trying to understand how a carnuba product will affect the look of an acrylic product, or visa-versa, with out experimenting on my truck and having to re-do an area. IF ...Chemical Guys V-7 produces a bright acrylic finish and IF.... Blackfire products produce a carnuba finish then what finish do I end up with if I top one with the other. Case in point...I put the V-7 sealant on my truck and it finished with a bright Acrylic finish. IF ( for conversation sake) I ran out of V-7 and wash the truck and then detail spray afterward with Blackfire Polymer spray, will the Blackfire soften the acrylic finish somewhat toward a carnuba look? AND to carry this further...what happens to my V-7 finish if I wash with a shampoo that has carnuba in it, such as DODO JUICE. Long story short...I like the acrylic finish on my white truck and have several products in the garage to wash and detail afterward but don't want to compromise the Acrylic finish that I have. This is manly a learning question on how acrylic and carnuba products interact, not so much as the brands listed. I would really appreciate some insight on this and If someone knows of a good book explaining all this I would like to get one.

I dont think your gonna break the acrylic v-7 you put on your car unless the carnuba wax your using has a lot of solvents in it. These are usually labeled cleaner wax or something like that. I could be wrong but I use sealants all the time and top them with a nuba to give IMO the best look you can get. I just make sure I give the sealant its proper cure time(usually 12-24 hour) before topping with carnuba. And BF poly spray is only gonna help maintain the protection you already have and give you little xtra shine. Hope this helps

Thanks for your input. The main question of my post was...Will topping a acrilic sealant with a carnuba anything, change the glassy look of the acrilic sealant?

i've always found that a good carnauba gives warmth and glow while a good sealant often adds shine and gloss. i love the look of carnauba over a sealant. it always seems to add depth to an already nice finish. some waxes like bfms, conatin similar polymers that their sealants contain and definitely have a better bond, but i have used a host of other waxes ovet my bfwd sealant with good results. those other waxes just don't seem to last as long as the bfms wax does. like connor said, don't be afraid to try it out, just avoid one step/ cleaner waxes over your sealant.

Sealants bond to paint. Waxes just sit on top of it. If a wax sits on top of a sealant, and the wax isn't clear as glass, it must change the look somewhat. Waxes don't "bond", they "sit", that is why sealants can be topped by waxes successfully and not vice-versa.

Obvious answer is obvious. Just go try it out and see.
That would be the obvious route to take but you either didn't understand the question OR like me don't know. On my white truck the best place to see a difference, if any, is looking out over the hood. "Try it and see" will not easily show the difference on the side panels Therefore if I "try it and see" on the hood and don't like it then I'll have to strip the hood and start over. I was hopping with all the detailers on the forum someone had an answer to the question, which is.....If you put a product, whether it be a sealant or wax or detail spray that has carnuba in it, over an acrylic sealant such as V-7 will it change or soften the glassy look of the acrylic such as V-7. I'm just trying to learn here without having to re-do something. If no one knows then I guess I'll have to "try it and see"

don't stress so much thinking about it. do a 50/50 on your hood, one side sealant topped with a carnauba and just sealant on the other. shoot some pics and do a quick write up of what you think. you'll get a ticket for the giveaway for your efforts.
if you don't like the finish results, polish it out and put on what you like. i really think you'll like the results of a carnauba lsp on the sealant. go for it :D

attached is a pic of my 2000 ford f150 bfwd topped with bfms.
