Heres my 02 Bonneville SSEi. Not the cooles car out there, but suits my tastes pretty well. I did an HID retrofit with FX45 bixenon projectors, i run HIR bulbs boosted to 15 volts in the highbeam location and Im working on retrofitting the projector fog lights into the factory fog light housings with led DRLs. The marker lights/turn signals are also LED. Ive got some mild engine mods as well; 3.4" pulley, stainless headers, 1.8:1 roller rockers, custom tune, fenderwell intake, etc. Possibly converting to E85 in the spring.

Also have a pretty decent sound system with Boston Pro 60 components up front in fiberglass in-door enclosures, Diamond amp for those, and a pair of Image Dynamics IDQ10s, which I hope to mount in the rear deck to save trunk space.

Just thought Id share. Winter is taking its toll at the moment and I definately need to polish her back to beauty.

Nicely done. I love the 3800 with the eaton on it. I love yet photography too, not just the car.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments. I just keep seeing such spectacular cars on here that I half expected a negative reaction to such a pedestrian machine.

The pics are the work of a friend of mine who dabbles in photography. I think he does pretty good work and really like the shots from that evening.

Great looking SSEi. I haven't seen one in a long time, but it's good to see you have one and taking good care of it. There is nothing to laugh at for sure.

I am fairly proud of it, especially when the guys in late mustang gt's get smoked by what they consider a grandpa car. Well, in a straight line anyway. Its wrong wheel drive after all.

Minneapolis is very photogenic and the pics show off the car and the city in equal parts.

I like the SSEi. I had a GTP when growing up and I think that 3.8L is the best motor GM has ever made.....aside from their little dex-cool experiment.

Nice pics -- looks of photoshop post processing to get the saturation, surreal colors, etc.

yourgrandma- Heh heh, I don't see anything "pedestrian" about a car with such well thought-out mods :xyxthumbs

I'm especially wowed by your headlights! FX45 projectors sound very good for the size of your capsules, always wondered just how big a job that would be. Did you DIY it or have somebody fabricate the conversion?

How did you boost the high beam voltage, with a relay setup?

I'd check out the local regs before you do the red LED running lights, in my neck of the woods that could run afoul of "emergency vehicle only" rules about red lights (other than tails/brakes/etc.).

Nice looking car man... I live in the Twin Cities, too. I've taken some pics around North Minneapolis near some warehouses, but haven't taken it down to the flower mills... looks like a great place to shoot some pics, I'll have to head down there some evening :bigups

Have you ever had your car on a 1/4 mile track? Curious what it would run w/ your mods

Yep, Im on PBC, same screen name.

MPLS certainly has some photogenic spots. Especially at sunset.

Accumulator, the retro is pretty involved. The FX is a pretty big projector and it just barely fits. The led marker lights are the amber lights on the outboard sides of the headlights. 65 superflux LEDs per side. The next project s to mount the projector fogs that are in the grille in the factory foglight housings surrounded by about 54 white superflux LEDs per side as DRLs.

If you want to see a pain in the butt of a retrofit, Il post up some pics of what I did to my streetbike.

I got banned from PBC.. long story short, two words .. a certain admin with two slow green cars didn't like me.

Hot car, either way. :)

HAH! Whatd you do to make Bill mad?

years and years ago when I owned a Bonneville, some stuff went down. I'll PM you. As for the car.. here's how it looked before I touched it right after purchase and after, a few months before I bought my Impala. Subtle mods.. was a '95 SLE
