Truck & trailer pics, new website

Very nice rig, I have to admit I am glad you're not set up in my area! :)

Excellent website too, I can tell a lot of time went into it. I particularly like when you click a service how each step has a little popup that tells what it's about, I think that will really help with first time customers.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Picus,

I came up with the idea for the little pop-ups because prior to having the website, people would ask questions like "what's clay bar treatment" or "what's carnauba wax". Hopefully, there's enough info on the pop-ups to answer some of those questions.

Wow Mike, I'm blown away. Your entire setup is extremely professional. From a customer's prospective, I wouldn't hesitiate hiring you in a second!

Tell your wife she did a fantastic job!!

Looks good mate, KISS keep it simple stupid. You have done and excellent job at that. The only thing i have would have done differently is painted the inside of the trailer, went to tandem axle.

I like the exterior. I opted for a wrap over lettering. I really like the pull of the wrap over simple lettering. The wrap paid for it's self about 5 times over in the last 2.5 months. Many of those are monthly clients.

Silvergray,

Thanks, I hope my customers feel the same way. I'll pass the message along to my wife.

Grouse,

Thanks! The interior of the trailer will be a "winter project". I got the trailer at the last minute so I didn't have time to do anything with it really. I want to put organizational stuff up there so I'm not constantly unpacking and packing stuff up when I go to a job (at least to the extent that I'm doing it now). I didn't do a tandem axle because the trailer that I got was at the top of my budget and the biggest trailer that would fit in my garage.

Thanks guys!

I hear you, It was a toss up for me on finishing out the interior.

I received my order almost 9 weeks late, i had about 2 weeks to put the trailer together and get it wrapped. While doing a full compliment of cars for customers befor car show season. Stress full to say the least.

Couple of things i am changing. The air tank, and generator are moving to the back and the rear shelving moving forward. I am transferring all mix/diluted liquids to 5 gallon side spout jerry cans. ( pre mix) All others are in 5-10l containers with spouts. Product will be in 5l liter lots. While the initial cost outlay is up from 1-2 liter sizes the price per use is halved if not 1/3rd.

Holey Mackeral!! This makes me really want to go get a trailer now. I only do this on the weekends so I can't really justify the cost but it would be SO cool!! Your website makes me want to take a pick-ax to the guy that did mine!! Yours will be the standard for every decision I make about my website from now on! Thanks for the inspiration!!  :2thumbs:

Mose, thanks for all the kind words. When I first started putting the business together, I really didn't envision it turning out this well so early. Hopefully, it will all pay off with good business.

By the way, obviously being a mobile detailer in Indiana can be aggravating due to the weather. Recently I was fortunate to land a month to month lease on a garage right in the heart of my town for only $200/mo. This way, I can keep working through the winter months and even use it through the spring/summer/fall during rainy days.

The facility is actually part of a real estate business that is run out of an old house. It has a detached 4 car garage but one of the bays is walled off to be a single bay. It has drains in the floor and lights along the sides and top of the bay. The owner said I can put a sign up on the side of the garage to bring in more business. On top of that advertising, I'm also going to offer pick-up and delivery service w/in a 10 mile radius from that location so I can continue to be somewhat mobile. Once I get some good pictures, I'll post them up. Like I said though, it's right in the heart of my town and there is a TON of traffic that drives by each and every day. I'm really looking forward to it.

I saw your website previously to seeing this post and I have to say that it is the benchmark for other detailer websites. As a fellow advertising guy - you wife does some great work. very clean and direct. Then to see your detail rig - you continue to reinforce that same persona. Very nice.

WOW, Thank you for such kind words HiDef!!! Comments like those make me feel better about all the time and effort we've spent to make my business as professional as possible.

Mike-

First, congrats on the setup.

I have a question regarding your powerwasher. Did you have to change the valve system on it to be able to work with a static water supply (water tank) versus water coming out of a pressurized line? I have heard that you "cannot" use your store bought powerwashers with watertanks because there isn't enough pressure strictly from gravity to feed the water pump.

As for suggestions on organization, I would look into finding some bins that you can screw into the walls of the trailer to store some of your bottles, some hooks to mount to hold your vac hose and other cords, but I think you are well on your way to have a very nice rig!

I have not modified the PW to work with my water tank at all. Prior to setting it up, I really wasn't sure what to expect so I thought I'd just give it a shot w/o a pump. Fortunately, it worked just fine. As you can see in one of the pics, I pull the PW and set it on the ground in front of the trailer so I'm sure gravity helps. The reason I pull it out of the trailer is so that when I'm running it, the exhaust isn't hitting the wall of the trailer. Plus, I don't want the hot exhaust from my generator hitting the PW when I'm using that.

Good idea about the hooks and stuff. I need to make a trip to Lowes to start looking for stuff.

I had the same concern with my PW when I picked up a job for a local guy of just hosing down some equipment for him on a weekly basis. He had power, but no water at his site. My local car wash throws away there 40 gallon plastic drums they get their chemicals in. I took a couple and cut the tops open and then went to Sears and bought a submersible pump.....about the size of a coffee can and it sucks the water in thru the bottom...usually the kind used if your basement maybe got alittle water on the floor. Just hooked some quick disconnect hose from the pump to the PW...turn thepump on and fire up the PW...never had a problem...and this is a 4.0 GPM pressure washer...so she uses the water!!
