This whole Cherry Wet Wax thing has been brought up elsewhere. Its not Cherry Wet Wax. Some QD sprays smell like Pina Colada but you dont see me pouring them into a glass to drink them.

The paint on both of my vehicles is in pretty good shape so I really havent been using a precleaner. I did use the Tropicare Swirl Cutter on the hood of my WRX when prepping it but I think that's overkill.



If you're paint's in pretty good shape, a good claying should be sufficient. In my testing, I tried no prep, some prep and a thorough prep and I really didnt notice much of a difference.
 
i have just recently applied this little wonder.I am sorry i dont posess a camera howerever this is my favorite for now.i have recently had da wolf,and fmj have enjoyed them,for this spring i will fool around with tc-3 went on easy nice clear shine more semi gloss and sharp,my 01'subaru look better than new feflect in the sun also, nice hard slick surface .my wife and i both really like it:xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

Uhm, ok.



My point is that it could very well be Cherry Wet Wax. You're fufilling the prophecy that Tropi-Care is a botique product and should perform better then the run of the mill cleaner/waxes. This is not made to be detrimental to cleaner waxes, they perform fairly well and quite frankly, on well prep'd paint you'd be hard to tell from any digital picture if it was Cherry Wet Wax or S100. This is, mainly, what happens when people want something to be true--even if it is not then they still believe it. Much of this board, as you will find, is full of this and the only way to tell is to go by what *you* like. So you like tropi-care, ok. I'll challenge you otherwise, buy some Cherry Wet Wax and compare it, wax to wax. If you report back and say that Tropi-care and Cherry Wet are different, then I'll believe it.



The pictures presented are great. The finish is very good, but it is important to keep in mind the preparation work that went into it and not solely the top coat.
 
i have 3/4 of a gallon of coats

cherry wet wax.any one want it? this is not the same in my opinion.cww has a real good amout of silicone oil in it,this stuff is real thick and needs a wet applicator to sread thin in coastal calif.and dries hard like a lacquer finish.imho it seems not to attract dust, this is is a nice product.nice pics by the way.:up :wavey :wavey

Exactly why do I need to compare the two? I know Steve, if Steve says its not then its not. I asked him point blank about this.. to be 100% sure, he even conferred with his chemist to make sure his chemist wasn't selling his stuff under another name. That's good enough for me. Just because it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck doesnt mean its the SAME duck. In hindsight, making the stuff hot pink and making it smell like cherry might not have been best best move but Steve didnt even know what Cherry Wet Wax was until I emailed him a link to the product.



I really dont understand why people on this forum are having such a hard time accepting this product for what it is. No one ever claimed that Tropi-Care was the answer to world peace or cured cancer. I havent seen any outrageous claims made, didnt see any mention of Teflon and I surely dont see people being as critical of other new products. Steve even gave away samples here for people to try just so people could get firsthand impressions of what the polish and car wash were about and even that wasn't good enough. Do you really think that Steve (Or any detaling product vendor for that matter) would be stupid enough to come to a forum with rabid detailing fanatics and try to pass off another sub-par product (At least from what little I could find about CWW on here) as some sort of high end polish? Business suicide anyone?
 
Also, FWIW, I try to use every product that comes out just to see what's what. I have bottles of NXT stuff sitting on my shelves in the garage (Anyone want some NXT cheap, PM me :) ), S100, Poorboys products, QEW, some older Zaino and others. You're right, most of it does give a good shine when properly prepped however they all don't shine the same and they all have varying degrees of difficulty in usage. TC, at least for me, is the easiest to use and gives a good shine at the end of the day. Granted that longevity is untested however that's just something we wont know until the product is a little older. Im as anxious as anyone else to see how the product holds up on my vehicles.

I'll have to try out tpgsr's sample of it tomorrow, would that make you love me like you once did? Haha. :) I am a very joking person, if you haven't noticed. But I believe it would be in Steve's best interest to change the smell to something...tropical. Cherries aren't very....tropical. :P

Interestingly enough he originally wanted orange with an orange scent but the orange scent ended up streaking. Changing the color/odor is no big deal for him. He gave me some red car wash last week at one of the shows to try out and his stuff is normally green.



I do think youre right about the color/scent, though. Ill mention that to him next time I see him.. since this has been brought up before at least once that I remember, it may be in his best interest to go to something different.

take note of the quotation marks and the first line of that post. It was a statement from Steve @ tropi-care when I asked him about it. I should have worded it more clearly.





I agree with the other posts, on a properly prepared finish even lemon pledge will leave an amazing shine.
 
Well it's been about a month since I posted. I thought I'd follow up with some results (rarely seen here). I only originally did the hood of my car. It's silver, so it's hard to tell if there was added depth, but there was added shine. It's rained here, quite a bit some days, sprinkles others and then other days (like yesterday) where it was just blistering hot. The days when it's rained, I've noticed the water beads wern't as tight as they used to be (than a month prior). I'm not really sure if that's at true testament of the durability of the product, but I just thought I'd chime in.
