Trim Shield or Forever Black

I have just bought a project car which has very UV faded/bleached black (now light grey ) bumpers.

The bumpers/trim which although faded have no scuffs or damage, what I need to do is somehow dye them, opinion seems VERY divided over Forever Black which would have been my first choice, someone recommended Trim Shield from Top of the Line with a link but it no longer works (the link)

I have been unable to find any other posts or opinions,so what shall I do?which one? any other ideas?

I may just have a go at it with the wife's hair dryer!Nothing to lose but I am reluctant to put anything else product wise on it as it might react with the dye when I decide which one to go for.

Help! :wall

You can do a few things one you can paint /w plastic paint the bumper/trim two you can remove the oxidation off the bumper/trim and apply a trim restorer three you can apply trim restorer over the oxidation. Fourth buy new but most of the time that is out of the question $$.

Though time it is exposed to UV rays and heat two things happens, oxidation and the other is removal of oils from the plastic or rubber. Oxidized plastic is similar to paint but it goes deeper and if it goes to deep about the only thing you can do is hope to fill the oils back in to the plastic/rubber but that doesn’t last that long on those rainy days, it just washes out in a short time. Once oils have been removed from plastic/rubber there is no way to make it “new again, you can make look new.

That stuff at top of the line was the stuff I was going to get until I stumbled upon this stuff. Now I'm not really sure which one to buy because I'm afraid of getting some gatorblack over the paint. Anways that stuff at top of the line is also called trimonex if you want to buy it.

The forever black is junk that streaks and like the above poster said cleaning and using dressings will be gone before you know it.

I will try to find out prices for new bumpers and try to clean up the trims which arn't as bad as the bumpers,I think because the bumers a flat and soak up more sun.We have a product in England called black trim wax which I will give a shot.
