A little "side note" regarding the ValuGard ETR.

Years ago, when Hyundia was deciding to use the ETR for major warranty concerns on thousands of new vehicles, they did look at ValuGard's testing data, but decided that since this concern was a "multi-million dollar" fix, to run their own testing, using a certified lab.

The test was done with 5 new parts, untreated, and 5 damaged parts.

They were put through an "accelerated" weathering/UV test protocal that was equal to 5 years of real world exposure.

The results astounded Hyundia for when the results of test were published, the "ETR repaired" parts had held up superior to the "new" parts.

I don't know of any other "product" that has had such testing, etc done and can state that the product is accepted by not one, but three major vehicle manufactuers.

Hyundia, Mazda, Mitsubisi.

I need to take a recent picture of that panel I did on my Dad's Avalanche with ETR. While there is a little chipping on the edges (from an issue you clearly warned me about specific to that application), it still looks great IMO. My Dad is even mulling over the idea of doing rest of the plastics regardless of the issue simply because that one panel looks so much better than the rest. If it wasn't for that particular problem (again, with the component, not the product), we would have both been 100% satisfied with the result.

One kit will do the door handles, cowl, mirrors, most side trim on over 50 cars.

The kit was developed for dealerships/large detail operations, which is why it does so many vehicles out of one kit.

Detailers make a lot of money off this kit, needless to say.

Most charge $20 for a set of mirrors, or a complete car, around a $100.00

Only distributors, of which ValuGard has very few of in the US and Canada, Mexico, have the kit unless it is bought directly from Automotive International-ValuGard.

I have found that Gtech P1 by hand or Optimum Hyper Polish by rotary did a really good job or bringing back the black textured trim. Some care needs to be given to heat build up but the trim cleans up quickly so it should not be a big problem

I have had good luck with - Gatorback Coatings on my Tacoma fender flares and Honda lower body trim. Seems to last more than a year. At one time they had a small bottle similar to a liquid shoe polish applicator but it seems now they have the spray can or a kit to use with a paint sprayer.
