I tried a sample on the gray flare on my Explorer today. Two coats and it looked a bit blotchy with the BFand didn't improve the chalky look much.
I then did a test spot on my front bumper PERL on the left. BF TT&TS on the right. My conclusion is that it must really depend on the plastic and color.
Poorboys Trim Restore was my goto last two years but this year it looks like the plastic degraded even more, it didn't work well anymore.
PERL really brings back the plastic from the dead. PERL doesn't look like it works either until it dries and the chalky look disappears. But after the torrential rain we had over the past few days it was all washed away.

It looks like all trim products to be hit and miss with old aged trim. I'm finding Grey to be one of the hardest to get looking good after its old.
